Dear friends, wishing you all a wonderful and joyful day!🌺

This evening, as I was pondering what to prepare for tea time, I thought of a simple yet delicious snack—a savory tea-time treat made with flour and stuffed with onions. It’s an easy recipe to make and a delightful addition to any tea break. Tea time is often a cherished moment in many households, where the warmth of a cup of tea is perfectly paired with a tasty snack. This wheat-flour-based recipe, enhanced with a savory onion filling, is made even better when served alongside a sweet chili sambol. So, let’s dive into how to prepare this delightful and simple dish!

Materials Used.

Wheat flour 100g.
Salt powder to taste.
Some water.
Coconut oil 100ml.
1 Table spoon of sugar.
A piece of cinnamon.
2 onions, finely chopped.
2 Teaspoon of crushed chili powder.
3 Tablespoon of Tamarind juice.

The cooking process as follows.

First, take a bowl and add the wheat flour. Next, add salt according to your taste. Gradually add water while mixing, until a smooth dough forms. Ensure the dough is not too sticky or too dry.

Next, take the chopped onions and place them in a separate bowl. Add chili powder, salt, and cinnamon powder to the onions. Mix everything well until the spices are evenly distributed, creating a flavorful filling for the dish.

Next, take another cooking pan and add about two tablespoons of coconut oil. Place the pan on the stove and heat it until the oil becomes hot. Add the spiced onion mixture to the pan and sauté until slightly fried. Once the onions are cooked, add a little tamarind juice and continue mixing well. After a short while, add sugar and stir thoroughly. Once the onion mixture is nicely fried and flavorful, remove the pan from the stove.

Now, take the prepared dough and divide it into small portions. Next, roll each portion into a thin sheet using a rolling pin. Place a spoonful of the prepared onion mixture in the center of the rolled dough. Carefully fold and seal the edges to form a stuffed flatbread, ensuring that the filling is securely enclosed. Shape it as desired and repeat the process with the remaining dough and filling.

Next, take another pan and add some coconut oil. Place the pan on medium heat and allow the oil to heat up. Carefully place the prepared stuffed rotis in the pan and cook until they turn golden brown on both sides. Flip them occasionally to ensure even cooking. Once done, remove them from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

Serve these golden delights with a cup of hot tea. The combination of the flaky exterior, caramelized onion filling, and subtle sweetness of the sugar sambal creates an unforgettable tea-time experience. See you again. Have a nice day.
