Have a nice day to all my dear friends. How are you? Day by day, life brings beautiful things our way. That’s the essence of life—it’s not about obstacles but about embracing the moments. Yesterday, I prepared some sweets perfect for tea time, and I want to share them with you. These treats are very easy to make with ingredients you probably already have at home. They are suitable for everyone, young and old alike. This sweet is also a popular dish among Sri Lankans, known as Sugar Batto. So, let’s see how to prepare this delightful treat.
Materials Used.
Wheat flour 200g.
Sugar 150g.
Coconut oil 100ml.
Salt powder to taste.
water 400ml.
The cooking process as follows.
We’re now ready to begin. First, take 200g of wheat flour and place it in a bowl to prepare the dough. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 2 teaspoons of coconut oil, then mix well. Then, gradually add water to the mixture and knead it into a dough.
Then take it after 10 minutes and spread flour on a thin board and roll it thin with a rolling pin. Cut the thinned flour mixture into squares as shown below.
Next, take each piece of prepared flour and fold it like a flower in the shape of the picture below.
Then we take a vessel and add coconut oil to it and keep it on the stove. After the oil is hot, fry the prepared flour flowers until golden.
Then we need to prepare a sugar syrup. For that, take a bowl and add sugar to it. Add some salt powder to it and add about 5 table spoons of water and heat until the sugar bubbles.
Then we add fried flour pieces to the sugar mixture. Then mix it well. It should be mixed for few minutes.
This is how I prepared a delicious sweet treat for tea time yesterday evening. When stored in an airtight container, it can last for up to two weeks.
