Purple Cabbage Pickle Probiotic Dish

Fermented pickles are usually a very good alternative to add to your lunch or even dinner menu at home. The process of making them is very easy, requiring only effort while waiting for the results.

This probiotic purple cabbage pickle dish is very delicious and certainly good for digestion. Pickles do change in taste after being left in a closed container for a few days. It is the fermentation process that makes them more delicious and very tasty.

Here are the ingredients I will prepare for making the pickles.




Ingredients Needed

200 grams of purple cabbage
1 lime
1 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoon of granulated sugar




Making Procedure


I usually cut small or medium-sized purple cabbage thinly, as I do when making noodles.

Then, add salt to the cabbage, stir until evenly mixed, and let it sit for 10 minutes. Don't forget to rinse it once with clean water after soaking it in salt.

Prepare lime juice and add it to the cabbage that has been soaked in salt.

Then add sugar, put it in a closed container, and store it for 24 hours or 2 days.

After two days of fermentation, the aroma of the acae changes instantly, combining sour and cabbage aromas. The cabbage does not rot but ferments into a delicious dish. The color is also still very fresh, just like new. I am very happy to be able to make a simple dish from cabbage. The result is truly special, and I absolutely love it. You should know that this isn't the first time I've made this pickle. I've tried it before, and the taste is indeed perfect for my palate.

Hello, it's good to see you back. How are things in the community after the disaster?

The place where I live is not too badly affected, but many other areas, even within the same district as me, have suffered severe damage. They have lost relatives, homes, and possessions. Hopefully Aceh will recover soon, as we are currently experiencing price increases and shortages of basic necessities due to blocked access roads.
