Tofu Pickled
Do you know what's Tofu pickled? Wow, maybe you've never even tried it, right? This dish is a simple dish using white tofu as the basic ingredient. The mixture of spices and special seasonings makes this dish more spectacular than you might expect.
It's very different in taste and savory from the casual dining dishes that I usually enjoy. This dish has characteristics that are much different from usual. When I lived with my close friend, I often made this dish, he said this was a typical Rembang tofu pickle which is a traditional pickle from one of the cities where my friend used to study. He said this pickle is different from other coconut milk sauces so it would be very delicious if enjoyed straight or even added to anything else.
This recipe is very simple, but you should know that this pickle has a very authentic taste so if you are a tofu lover, you will definitely find this an extraordinary tofu dish. So, instead of being curious, let's look at the following simple recipe!
Materials Used
10 green cayenne peppers,
1 stalk lemongrass,
1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce,
Salt to taste,
2 red onions,
1 clove of garlic,
Medium coconut milk 250 ml,
1 teaspoon vinegar,
1 teaspoon stock powder
Apart from the ingredients above, there are special spices that make this recipe even more delicious. This is a fine seasoning made from selected spices, not much but enough to strengthen the taste of the pickled tofu dish.
Softened Seasoning
1 candlenut,
1 clove of garlic
How to Cook Pickled Tofu
Blend the spices with a little water, until they are as smooth as possible.
Cut the tofu into rectangular shapes and into small pieces, or according to your taste.
Thinly chop the garlic and shallots.
After everything is ready and the ingredients are ready to use, don't forget to also prepare the lemongrass and crush or bruise it with a knife.
Saute the shallots and garlic until softened. Then add the lemongrass stalks.
Add the crushed spices to the onion frying pan and cook for a minute.
Once the spices start to boil, then add the tofu pieces.
Then add thick coconut milk, stir until evenly mixed with coconut milk.
Add whole bird's eye chilies, then add one tablespoon of sweet soy sauce.
Add the vinegar, then season with salt.
Season also with mushroom stock, then adjust the taste and cook until cooked.

Pickled Tofu is ready to be enjoyed, serve in a serving bowl. So for this recipe you get 2 servings of pickles of the right size. You can enjoy it with whatever you like, but this time I enjoyed it just with this pickle without adding rice or bread.
You know? This is very delicious, savory, sweet and sour and a little spicy when I bite into the cayenne pepper that was added to the pickle earlier. Ahh, this is indeed something delicious, the delicious coconut milk combined with the spices and the stir-fry make this dish very flavorful and has its own characteristics. For those of you who are confused about processing tofu, I think this pickled tofu can be your guide when cooking for your family at home.

Amiga that this recipe looks comforting, delicious, I would love to try it, here in my country it is difficult to get tofu.
Greetings dear @nurfay 💕
Wow, maybe you should look for it in Asian stores, I'm sure they sell lots of them. However, pay attention to the type of tofu because some tofu is processed with non-vegan additions!
I love tofu and this extra dish is a plus to my list of yummy tofu dishes. Thank you
