Cassava Leaf Tofu Rolade

Hi vegan lovers, greetings and warm hugs to you, I hope you are always in good health and get every blessing within you.

Today I will invite you to pick cassava leaves behind the mess where I live. There's a lot going on in this back garden, they've destroyed the fence and fallen down. As a result, many plants are unkempt and vegetables are destroyed by neighbors' pets. However, from the remains there are several cassava trees that grow back and produce new leaf plants. Cassava is actually a type of cassava plant that does not bear fruit, we usually only eat the leaves.

I pick these cassava leaves that grow abundantly to make something delicious in preparation as a snack. It's nice to see them growing beautifully among the pandan leaf plants that are starting to creep everywhere. I just picked a few stalks, around 4 stalks. Then I washed it until it was clean in the faucet at the back of the house. Next, I will invite you to make snacks from processed cassava leaves.

Cassava Leaf Tofu Rolade

Who would have thought that cassava leaves have been processed so much as a traditional food in Indonesia. However, there is one thing that caught my attention about this preparation from cassava leaves. Namely cassava leaf rolade, this is processed cassava leaves combined with tofu. Then fried crispy.

Materials Used

4 sprigs of cassava leaves.
5 pieces of tofu
1 teaspoon ground pepper
4 tablespoons wheat flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt

Cooking Procedure

Step 1

I started by preparing cassava leaves, plucking cassava leaves taking young shoots.

Step 2

Prepare the cooking water, then after boiling, add the leaves and boil until soft.

Step 3

While waiting for the cassava leaves to cook, I crushed the tofu with a fork.

Step 4

Then season with ground pepper, and add salt.

Step 6

Next add wheat flour and garlic powder.

Step 7

Don't forget to also season with mushroom stock, and stir until evenly mixed.

Step 8

Now that the cassava leaves are starting to cook, drain them briefly then cut them into small pieces.

Step 9

Next, add it to the tofu mixture and stir until evenly mixed.

Step 10

Shape the dough into a round shape then do this until all the dough is finished. In this recipe I get 10 pieces of roulade.

Step 11

Then fry the tofu roulade in hot oil over medium heat until golden brown, then remove and drain.

There is one tip for you, when making tofu roulades, make sure you use tofu that is not sour, and has a softer texture. Meanwhile, for cassava leaves, use young cassava leaves to make this roulade because it will have a better taste. Good luck trying the recipe!

Looks delicious @nurfay . Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much dear, you can also make this even better than this, with different vegetables.

Hi @nurfay, this is new to me and as always I come at the right time to pin. At my family's house in Venezuela they have yucca plants and never use the leaf but I will talk to them and tell them about your recipe. Too bad about the damage to the fence.

A virtual hug from Colombia all the way to Indonesia 💙🙏

Yes, the damaged fence cannot be repaired but some of the plants inside still remain. Thank you for stopping by darling, a warm hug to you.

It is good that there are some plants. Blessings!

These looks delicious, I just wish I can have a taste. Maybe then I can consider making it.
