Hello everyone!

Are you having a good day?

Today is my first day sharing a recipe for my hive friends. Every region in the world certainly has its own special food that may not exist in other places, such as in Indonesia, which has a special food, namely tempeh. Tempeh is a food made from fermented soybeans and several other ingredients that contain important proteins for the human body. Tempeh can be processed into various food menus such as being used as a side dish or as a snack. This simple tempeh dish is perfect for those who want to eat delicious food but save money because the price is affordable. This can be a mainstay menu when the end of the month.

For today's dish, I chose the bacem tempeh menu. Bacem tempeh is a traditional food from Central Java. The first time I knew this dish from my mother, my mother is from Central Java, we often make sweet dishes because they are very suitable for our tongue.

Ingredients For Making Bacem Tempeh :

250 gr tempeh, cut into 1cm pieces
10 tamarind seeds
100 gr brown sugar
3 tbsp coriander
4 cloves garlic
6 cloves shallots

2 bay leaves
1 stalk of lemongrass, crushed
1/2 tsp salt
Sufficient water
Oil for frying

How To Cook:

Step 1

Cut the tempeh into thick pieces, I made the middle part of the tempeh so that the spices can be absorbed better. Set aside
Don't cut it thinly because it might break because it will be boiled for quite a long time.

Step 2

Put the coriander, shallots and garlic in a blender and add a little water. You can also use a pestle and mortar.

Step 3

Slice the brown sugar so that it dissolves easily. I use brown sugar that is not too dark, my mother said the darker the color of the brown sugar, the more attractive the appearance of the bacem tempeh.

Step 4

Step 5

Put all the ingredients together and add water until all the ingredients are submerged, stir for a while so that all the ingredients are evenly mixed. then cover. Cook over medium heat until the water dries up and the spices are absorbed.
