Hello everyone!
When I was child, I really liked ice cream, the happiest thing in my life when I was little was that my mother often bought or made simple ice cream.

I dont know why, when we child really like ice cream? If we buy ice cream, it feels like all sadness will disappear with a sweet and delicious ice cream.

When I was little, there was an ice cream that was very familiar to children who grew up in Indonesia. So, there is an ice cream called candle ice cream. Named candle ice cream because of its long and round shape which is very similar to a candle.

Usually the candle ice cream has many variations of flavors, such as soursop, mango, pineapple, and these are all fruits that come from tropical countries. There are also red bean, mung beans, corn and soya milk flavors.

I would love it if my mom made corn flavored candle ice cream. Because the corn flavored candle ice cream is very sweet and also has a very attractive color.
My mother also very often invites me to participate in making candle ice cream.

So, because my mother's candle ice cream tasted very good, my mother also sold the candle ice cream and put it in my school. And also when I was in elementary school, at that time many people didn't have a freezer at home, so candle ice cream became a favorite of students at my school.

From the money from the sale of the candle ice cream, my mother was able to pay for my school fees and even save the rest for our family's needs. But my mother could only sell candle ice cream until I finished elementary school, because it would be very troublesome later if my mother had to deliver these candle ice cream.

So yesterday I saw a lot of corn in the market and it was selling very cheaply. At that time I thought I wanted to make candle ice cream while reminiscing about the moment when I was in elementary school. I really like eating candle ice cream in the cafeteria while playing with my friends, remembering it makes me want to go back to childhood.

By the way, today I want to share an easy and cheap candle ice cream recipe. Of course, made from plantbased. The ingredients are also very easy and cheap, curious about the recipe? Let's see the following candle ice cream recipe!

How good is this recipe @aswita! You know I make similar ice creams, but only with the water from cooking the corn, and I flavor them with sarrapia (tonka) seed or vanilla and sweeten them with papelón, they are delicious. I love that you served them in those little bags, in Venezuela this type of ice cream in elongated bags is called "bambinos". Greetings and happy new year 2022.

I search sarrapia, and i dont know that. But i must to find sarrapia and im curious!

Btw, thanks to stopping by :)

Sarrapia, whose scientific name is Diphysa punctata, is a seed from the fruit of an Amazonian tree. When the plant fructifies, it does so in a capsule that looks like a green mango, but it is different inside, as it contains several encapsulated seeds that have a delicious aroma and flavor. This is what is used from the plant. The seeds can be stored for a long time, they remain in good condition, only their color changes. In the United States it is called Tonka.

Yes, I read on google that it smells like vanilla and is very delicious, many use it as perfume. I'm very interested, I'll look for it here.

I almost thought that it was a candle lol. BECAUSE in my neighborhood, when I was a kid, we called it "ROCKET ICE CREAM".

really missed that beautiful day, when I came back home from the martial arts training, ride my bike, and stopped by a little stall near my house to buy that ice cream.

Huaa, in my village always says es lilin, and its my fav ice cream, because is cheap more than walls and another🤣

Wow so interesting. I have never heard of this. I love learning what people have in their culture. It's also a nice story of your memories.

This food is indeed native to Indonesia, so maybe many people don't know. And the most important thing about this food is its fresh taste...
