Interesting section I just read right here as I’ve just learned that some of the most important innovations that are used today were actually invented post 1914 era when the federal reserve was created & we were still on the good old gold standard.
I never thought of it like this, but probably one of the most important inventions we have ever came up with is the modern pluming system that we all literally take for granted. Hot & cold running water, sewage, toilets, filtered water for drinking, this literally means the difference between life & death. Yet, & sadly, some parts of the world do not have this in their region at all. It should be a basic human right to have this readily available to everyone alive.
Electricity & the internal combustion system, cars, airplanes, public transportation, all invented before 1914. Without all this, we would still be stuck with very slow transportation & without any electricity to power our devices heat our homes efficiently.
Modern medicine & sanitation & many of their tools have been invented before 1914 as well. The computer was invented in 1833, who the heck knew? Not really a computer but a device with telecommunication signals that could send messages without the need for physical transport.
What we have all done today is just take these inventions & we have made them substantially better than they already were. The first iPhone was not literally the first phone, or wireless phone ever created. You could have browsed the internet back in the early 2000s on a Motorola Razor phone. What we have done today is just take previous inventions & we have made them substantially better.
