Asesino de Brujas es un libro de fantasía, que recalca bastante el empoderamiento femenino. Lou una bruja se ve forzada a escapar de su aquelarre y lleva dos años escondida en las calles de Cesarine como una ladrona, pero en esta ciudad detestan a las brujas.La ciudad de Cesarine es la capital de Belterra, está dirigida por un Rey y a la vez por la iglesia, quienes entrenan chicos para matar a las brujas ya que se supone que estas van en contra de lo que Dios manda. En este pueblo, por supuesto, se esconden algunas brujas, pero como en todo, hay brujas malas y hay brujas buenas.
What is it about?
Serpent & Dove is a fantasy book, which emphasizes female empowerment. Lou a witch is forced to escape from her coven and has been hiding in the streets of Cesarine for two years as a thief, but in this city they detest witches.
The town of Cesarine is the capital of Belterra, it is run by a King and at the same time by the church, who train boys to kill the witches since they are supposed to go against God's command. In this town, some witches hide, but as in everything, there are bad witches and there are good witches.
¿Qué tipo de narración tiene?
Es narrado por los dos personajes principales Reíd, un cazador de brujas y Lou una bruja, en algún punto del libro ambos se encuentran y se ven forzados a casarse por lo que tendrán que lidiar uno con el otro, Lou tendrá que ocultar que es una bruja para que no la asesinen en la hoguera y Reid soportarla por no tener los modales adecuados de una dama según el.
Es una narración bastante llevadera, al principio me pareció un poco desesperante porque no veía muy bien hacia donde iba la trama, pero luego se vuelve como yo digo, ' ligera y devorable ' porque una vez te adentras en ella no hay quien te pare, sin duda vas a querer seguir leyendo.
What kind of narration does it has?
It is narrated by the two main characters Reid, a witch hunter and Lou a witch, at some point in the book both meet and are forced to marry so they will have to deal with each other, Lou will have to hide that she is a witch to not be killed at the stake and Reid endure it for not having the proper manners of a lady according to him.
It is a fairly bearable narrative, at first I found it a bit desperate because I did not see very well where the plot was going, but then it becomes as I say, ' light and devourable ' because once you get into it there is no stopping you, no doubt you will want to keep reading.

Sistema de magia
Vale, está es una de las partes que más me parece importante con respecto a los libros de fantasía, ya que es uno de los pilares del libro que lo podría llevar a ser un buen libro o ser un mal libro.
En el caso de Asesino de Brujas, las brujas ven hilos dorados con opciones para dar y recibir, es decir, toda magia tiene un precio, la naturaleza siempre va a exigirles un balance, y todo esto va a ser totalmente subjetivo dependiendo de la bruja y sus niveles de importancia con respecto a la vida y a las cosas.
Además, solo las mujeres tienen poder, es por eso que los hombres adoptan una perspectiva un poco machista en el libro, queriendo que la mujer sea dócil y de no ser así podría ser sospecha para ser una bruja.
En este mundo, la magia deja un rastro y es su olor, por lo que las brujas para ocultarse deben dejar de hacer magia o buscar algo que disfrace el olor que desprende su poder.
Magic System
Okay, this is one of the parts that I find most important regarding fantasy books, since it is one of the pillars of the book that could lead it to be a good book or a bad book.
In the case of Serpent and Dove, the witches see golden threads with options to give and receive, that is, all magic has a price, nature is always going to demand a balance from them, and all this is going to be totally subjective depending on the witch and her levels of importance regarding life and things.
Also, only women have power, which is why the men adopt a somewhat macho perspective in the book, wanting the woman to be docile and otherwise she might be suspected of being a witch.
In this world, magic leaves a trace and that is its smell, so witches to hide must stop doing magic or look for something to disguise the smell that gives off its power.

Lou Le Blanc
La protagonista, una bruja que está en las calles de la ciudad como ladrona, es bastante problemática, se ve implicada en todo tipo de asuntos para intentar protegerse ya que escapó de su aquelarre y el sitio donde está ahora está repleto de cazadores de brujas, es una mujer independiente y no se dejará dominar por nadie.

Lou Le Blanc
The main character, a witch who is on the streets of the city as a thief, is quite problematic, she is involved in all kinds of affairs to try to protect herself since she escaped from her coven and the place where she is now is full of witch hunters, she is an independent woman and will not be dominated by anyone.
Reid Diggory
Es el comandante de los cazadores de brujas, es bastante hábil en combate, y está descrito como pelirrojo y por ser un chico bastante alto.
Debo decir que este personaje en ocasiones no me gustó porque lo crearon como un chico con problemas de ira (todo bien hasta aquí) pero en ocasiones se molesta y golpea puertas o los escritorios y no me gustó eso, sin embargo no es para nada un mal tipo y hará todo para proteger a quien juro proteger.
Reid Diggory
He is the commander of the witch hunters, he is quite skilled in combat, and he is described as having red hair and being quite a tall guy.
I must say that this character at times I didn't like because they created him as a guy with anger issues (all good until here) but at times he gets upset and bangs doors or the desks and I didn't like that, however, he's not a bad guy at all and will do anything to protect who he swears to protect.
Ansel Diggory
Es un chico que forma parte de los soldados de la iglesia contra las brujas, sin embargo aún no termina de pasar de nivel para ser un cazador de brujas. Este personaje lo amé, simplemente es mi personaje favorito, es un chico super tierno de unos 16 años que se vuelve amigo de Lou.
Este personaje a pesar de no tener ningún tipo de fuerza o magia o algo que destacara, se ganó mi corazón, lo muestran como un chico bastante puro que intenta ser fuerte a su manera.
Ansel Diggory
He is a boy who is part of the church soldiers against witches, however, he still doesn't finish the level to be a witch hunter. I loved this character, he's simply my favorite character, he's a super cute 16-year-old boy who becomes friends with Lou.
This character despite not having any kind of strength or magic or anything that stood out, he won my heart, they show him as a pretty pure kid who tries to be strong in his own way.
Coco Monvoisin
Es una bruja de sangre, diferente al tipo de bruja que es Lou, es la mejor amiga de Lou, y es descrita como una chica muy hermosa a pesar de estar llena de cicatrices, su magia corre por su sangre así que debe hacerse cortes para emplearla, ella hará todo lo posible por ayudar a Lou.
Coco Monvoisin
She is a blood witch, different from the type of witch Lou is, she is Lou's best friend, and is described as a very beautiful girl despite being full of scars, her magic runs through her blood so she must make cuts to employ it, she will do everything she can to help Lou.
Mi opinión:
Este libro sin duda está lleno de magia, aventuras, riesgos y mucha pasión, tiene todo lo que quieres en un libro de fantasía para jóvenes adultos, al final quedas con ganas de seguir explorando su mundo e ir ya a por el siguiente, tengo que agregar que me gustó más la portada y el nombre en español que en inglés, me parece bien que le hayan cambiado el nombre ya que Serpiente y Paloma no sonaría muy llamativo en español.

My opinion
This book without a doubt is full of magic, adventures, risks and a lot of passion, it has everything you want in a young adult fantasy book, at the end you are left wanting to continue exploring their world and go for the next one, I have to add that I liked the cover and the name in Spanish better than in English, I think it's good that they changed the name since Serpent & Dove would not sound very striking in Spanish.
