Finding Your Allies (Lessons from "The Archer" by Paulo Coelho)

As the title implies, in his book entitled "The Archer", Paulo Coelho makes an analogy; we, humans, are considered as an archer. In order to become a good archer, we need to get to know the art of archery and have the necessary tools; the bow, the arrow, and so on. I will outline the important lessons of this fairly concise book in a few posts. Let's start with lesson number 1: Finding Your Allies

To be a good human being, we need friends/allies. These people we make allies do not have to be extraordinary people who are admired by many; she/he doesn't have to be someone who is in the same field as us. Instead, people from different fields will teach many things that are also applicable in the life of an "archer". Let's say; farmer. They teach us not to curse the season because it would be a waste of time. Find people who are enthusiastic about what they do. Look for people who are willing to observe other people; not to judge them, but to learn from their passion and dedication. Look for people who are willing to change their direction when they are faced with better choices and opportunities. Look for people who are adaptable, but never lose sight of their goal. Look for people who always have a purpose; even if one goal has been achieved, they always have a new one to reach by applying the lessons they have learned from previous journey

At the end, we as humans of course benefit each other; then be a good ally for others too; learn to understand other people and their tools; find ways to improve not only yourself but your allies too

So find your best allies!
