Greenway was the holiday home for Agatha Christie and her family. She said it was 'the loveliest place in the world'. It was filled with items brought from Ashfield, Agatha's childhood home, and from their travels and extensive collections.
Greenway was used as the setting for her novels Five Little Pigs (1942) and Dead Man's Folly (1956). It was also used as the location for the TV version of Dead Man's Folly starring David Suchet as the private investigator, Hercule Poirot.
