RE: My everlasting love for the works of H.P Lovecraft [Eng | Spa]

in Hive Book Club2 years ago

Lovecraft is a bit weird as he can sound hopeless at times, and in others he could totally demostrate that fearless nature of man kind, and that is what I love about his works, he can be human in both sides of the spectrum, and so he tries to reflect that into his works, big hug and thank you for the support :)

Thank you!

It's amazing how art can resonate through ages. Why? I am reading Liu's Supernova Era as you know. It's a sad book with people dying en masse in dignity and peace. Because of the radiation from the supernova all above age of thirteen die. It's a hopeless situation for those dying and a huge opportunity for the children to carry on. Fearless they are, as you say. It really touches your heart, this duality of despair and hope.

Let's embrace hope :)

Of that book the thing I love the most is how the adults try to teach the children in a sort of speed test, to see how much information they can pass on before dying, and I love how even with a certain death people are trying to teach and give, how they can light a fire in others while theirs is slowly dying out at the same time, I just love it. I don't know if it hit me the most as I'm a parent myself, or something like it (As I'm going to post about parenting in about one or two hours here on hive) but it sure stuck with me after a reading of this book.
