Book Fair Book - 'Shadow Path' (novel)

It was September 2016. To further strengthen my foundation for online writing, I wrote on various web portals. I visited all the pages related to writing. Similarly, I wrote a commissioned story for a thematic issue on a web portal. The topic of that issue was... 'Hate'.

A plot of a story had been swirling around in my head for quite some time. I couldn't get out of that plot at all. The plot was somehow poking me subtly. It wasn't unfolding in a straight line. Only occasionally, a little glimmer of light would appear. I had been sitting with the plot in my head for a long time. I couldn't figure out how to make hate the subject of that plot. It just seemed to me that the plot I had in my head wasn't about love... it was about something else hidden behind love. After much thought, I came up with a story. The intention was... to wrap the color of love in paper and bring out the ugly hate in a white guise.

My short story 'Chayapath' originated from that intention. How successful the intention was, that story is here. Today, I will tell you how, with the intense attraction of 'Chayapath', I transformed that short story I wrote into a full-fledged novel. Even after writing the short story ‘Chayapath’, I started to feel that not everything was said. I still have a lot to say.

It is impossible for me to describe the extent and twists of Muhith’s life in so few words. The intricately woven stories hidden in the delicate folds of his life cannot be limited to the scope of a short story. By weaving the stories, I finally wrote a novel of great caliber. The story of Muhith… the story of some other diverse characters trapped in a strange chayapath.

Shortly before I finished the novel, another strange thought came to me. I started to feel like I had really finished Muhith’s story? Has everything I wanted to say been said? Or has the real thing not been said to me yet? I understand… I have gradually started to wander around the chayapath myself! I would also like to request the reader to wait with me. Muhith's story is still unfinished...
