Reseña del libro "Maldad Latente" Por Sandra Brown || "Mean Streak" By Sandra Brown - Book Review

I remember it was spring when I started reading this book, "her story is kind of long" was what came to my mind at first, but its content captured me and guided me to another world, where I followed the steps of the protagonist and could feel the same as she reflected in her words.

The author Sandra Brown leaves us breathless as we go deeper and deeper into the story, the suspense invades our minds, the desire to know what happens does not leave us quiet and we keep reading the next page and so we are until we finally reach the end.

A novel full of suspense and romance is how the author describes her story, which follows these descriptions very well. It takes us into a very different place with a chaotic and unusual atmosphere. A romance, a kidnapping, a hard fall.

Emory Charbonneau, a young pediatric doctor and marathon runner, is going through a divorce with her husband Jeff. Life goes on for Emory and she doesn't miss her marathons so she decides to travel for the next one and prepare days before in the same place where the marathon would be held; a mountainous place in Northern California. Fate plays with her and makes Emory disappear on a trail, falling and hitting her head causing her to lose consciousness.

When her husband Jeff notices her disappearance he decides to call the authorities, but after a somewhat dubious disappearance without a trace the officers have no choice but to suspect Jeff and his recent divorce papers. Meanwhile, Emory is kidnapped by a man completely unknown to her who gives her no information about his identity or what he really wants. With fear seeping into Emory's veins she is forced to do something to try to flee the place, adrenaline rushing faster than fear and planning every day for a way out.

One more problem camps next to Emory, the man just wants his own justice using not so professional methods. The kidnapper gives off a rude and cold aura that awakens strange feelings in Emory. Both are involved in somewhat uncomfortable situations that will give a somewhat unexpected ending.

The emotions that the author transmits with this book are so strong that you can feel them; the anguish, the suspense, the desperation are part of the reading and of course the action, the drama, the romance and a touch of passion are the ones that overflow this wonderful story written by a great author; Sandra Brown.

This is the only book I have read by her but it certainly left me with a huge curiosity for her other works. Great story, great characters, great writer.

Gran historia, grandes personajes, gran escritora.
