The cold weather is coming, along with hot chocolate and, of course, time to read❄️☕ In a Winter Reading List (December to February), you might expect Christmas or seasonal romance books—although I'm not complaining if any slip in— but after much research on Goodreads, reading synopses, and admiring covers, I've put together a mix that excites me and that I think might also grab your attention: thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat, mysteries that pique your curiosity even on the grayest days, and a touch of cozy romance to balance out the tension. The truth is, I always find an excuse to read fantasy, mystery, and fiction😁
Before starting a book, I type the name of the book + aesthetics into the Pinterest search engine to get an idea of the atmosphere of the reading and the new world I'm about to enter. That's why I think all the books on this list have something special that makes them perfect for the winter months; some will have me chasing every clue, others will have me sighing between chapters, and all of them have that something that will keep me in bed for a couple more hours.

Antes de comenzar un libro, coloco en el buscador de Pinterest el nombre del libro + aesthetic, para conocer cuáles son las vibras de la lectura y el nuevo mundo en el que voy a entrar. Por eso creo que cada libro de esta lista tiene algo especial que lo hace perfecto para los meses de invierno; unos me harán correr detrás de cada pista, otros me harán suspirar entre capítulos, y todos tienen ese algo que me hará quedarme en la cama un par de horas más.

After eight years, Dan Brown returns with another adventure featuring my favorite Harvard professor. You're probably familiar with the incredibly famous books The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons. Each one is a different adventure with its own ending, but in reality, it's a series of books that follow different stories of Professor Robert Langdon. I love Brown's writing, so I screamed when I found out a new book was coming out. Perhaps the last of the Langdon stories. I loved that this one has a psychological twist, given that the main mystery is: human consciousness. Here, Robert arrives in another European city, gets caught up in another conspiracy that holds dark mysteries of humanity, and must help another woman (but with more motivation😏); the perfect combination that makes me love all these books.

Probablemente, conozcan los libros increíblemente famosos de El Código Da Vinci o Ángeles y Demonios, cada uno es una aventura diferente, con su final, pero, en realidad, es una saga de libros que siguen distintas historias del profesor Robert Langdon. Yo amo la narrativa de Brown, así que grité cuando me enteré de que vendría un nuevo libro. Quizás el último de las historias de Langdon. Me encantó que este tiene un toque psicológico, dado que el misterio principal es: la conciencia humana. Aquí Robert llega a otra ciudad europea, se ve envuelto en otra conspiración que guarda oscuros misterios de la humanidad, y debe ayudar a otra mujer (pero con más motivación😏); la combinación perfecta que hace que ame todos estos libros.

Against all odds, this will be the third book by Emily Henry that I read. I'm not a fan of romance novels, so that's surprising😂 But this author has something that makes me really enjoy her romcoms. The last one I read was Book Lovers, and I loved it, so I have high expectations for this story. Plus, on January 9, Netflix will release an adaptation of the book! With Tom Blyth! That made me really want to read this book before seeing the movie, because a good romcom is something I can't miss.

Contra todo pronóstico, este sería el tercer libro de Emily Henry que leo. No soy amante de los libros de romance, así que ese dato es sorprendente😂 Pero esta autora tiene algo que hace que disfrute bastante sus romcoms. El último que leí fue Book Lovers, y me encantó; por ende, tengo grande expectativas con esta historia. Además, el 09 de Enero, ¡Netflix nos traerá adaptación del libro! ¡Con Tom Blyth! Eso generó la gran necesidad de leer este libro antes de ver la película, porque un buen romcom es algo que yo no me puedo perder.

As I mentioned in the intro, I love searching Pinterest for book aesthetics to get an idea of what the worldbuilding will be like, and when I saw that the protagonist had white hair... I was hooked, completely hooked. I love male characters with white hair🥰 This book is part of the Wicked Games series, a collection of independent stories that share a world, atmosphere, and small common threads. Here, you do need to read them in order to follow the references, but each book has different protagonists. I like the haunted mansion vibes, deadly games, demons, and forbidden romances. And I can't wait to read it to meet Blackwell. I need to know if he'll be my next literary crush.

Como mencioné en la intro, me encanta buscar en Pinteret la estética de los libros para conocer cómo será ese worldbuilding, y cuando vi que el protagonista tenía cabello blanco... caí, caí completamente. Me encanta un personaje masculino con cabello blanco🥰 Este libro forma parte de la serie Wicked Games, una colección de historias independientes que comparten mundo, atmósfera y pequeños hilos en común. Aquí sí es necesario leerlos en orden para seguir las referencias, pero cada libro tiene protagonistas diferentes. Me gusta esas vibras de mansión embrujada, juego mortal, demonios y romances prohibidos. Y ya quiero leerlo para conocer a Blackwell, necesito saber si será mi próximo crush literario.

We already know how this is going to end, but we know we want to read it. Once again, I searched for the aesthetic on Pinterest, once again I saw a white-haired protagonist, and I said, “I have to be here.”🤭 Plus, this story is set in an Egyptian fantasy world, and that also caught my attention. I found out about this book thanks to Pinterest, and I love the fact that it combines political fiction with romantasy. I read the synopsis on Goodreads and felt a connection. Supe la existencia de este libro gracias a Pinterest, y el hecho de que combine ficción politica con romantasy me encanta. I read the synopsis on Goodreads, and the first thing I thought was, “Oh Chloe, I'm so sorry, how awful.”🙃 I want to start reading thrillers and horror books, gradually adding them to my reading list, and this will be one of the first. I think it must be extremely difficult to find out that your father is a serial killer of teenagers like you, and that decades later, new crimes with the same modus operandi appear. Plus, the main character is a psychologist, so how could I not read it? I'm going to have crimes, psychological perspectives, mysteries, and trauma. I only know a little bit about the story, and I already need answers.

Leí la sinopsis en Goodreads, y lo primero que pensé fue: "ay Chloe, lo siento mucho, qué horrible"🙃 Quiero comenzar a leer thrillers y libros de terror, incluyéndolos poco a poco a mis lecturas, y este será uno de los primeros. Me parece algo sumamente complejo enterarte que tu padre es un asesino en serie de adolescentes como tú, y que décadas después aparezcan nuevos crímenes con el mismo modus operandi. Además, tenemos una protagonista psicóloga, ¿cómo no voy a leerlo? Voy a tener crímenes, perspectivas psicológicas, misterios y traumas. Solo conozco un poquito de la historia, y ya necesito respuestas.

This is the last book on the list. I wasn't sure whether to include it or not, but I'm drawn to anything involving ancient curses and mysteries that need solving. So, I decided to give it a try. I needed stories about adults facing problems and finding solutions to survive. Plus, I know it has a romantic touch, and that convinced me.

Este es el último libro de la lista, no sabía si incluirlo o no, pero me llama la atención todo lo que sea maldiciones antiguas y misterios que necesitan ser resueltos. Por lo tanto, decidí darle una oportunidad. Necesitaba historias de gente adulta envuelta en problemas y encontrando soluciones para sobrevivir. Además, sé que tiene un toque romántico incluido, y eso me terminó de convencer.
There is another trilogy I want to read, but I didn't include it in the list because I would like to read it in physical form (and I already have these books, except for Dan Brown, downloaded in ePub format). It's the trilogy “El Perfume del Rey” (The King's Perfume) by Karine Bernal Lobo. She is a Colombian writer, so I want to support my neighbor by buying her books. Plus, it's a romantic fantasy and enemies-to-lovers story, with political and royal touches... I couldn't ask for more✨ I don't know if I'll be able to buy her books this quarter or later, so I didn't want to include it directly on the list, but it's definitely on my list of goals for 2026🩷

Hay otra trilogía que deseo leer, pero que no incluí en la lista porque me gustaría leerlo en físico (y estos libros, excepto Dan Brown, ya los tengo descargado en ePub). Se trata de la trilogía de "El Perfume del Rey", de Karine Bernal Lobo. Es una escritora colombiana, así que quiero apoyar a esta vecina comprando sus libros. Además, es un romantasy y enemies to lovers, con toques politicos y de realeza... no puedo pedir más✨ No sé si podré comprar sus libros durante este trimestre o después, así que no lo quise incluir directamente en la lista, pero definitivamente está en mis propósitos del 2026🩷
