📖🤎 BookTag: 10 Questions | 📖🤎 BookTag: 10 Preguntas ….. [ENG-ESP]

in Hive Book Club2 months ago (edited)

👋🏽 Hello Community. Em here; I hope you are all well. This time, I bring you a little BookTag that I discovered on the blog Paseando entre Páginas. I thought the questions were fun, so I wanted to share my answers with you. If you feel like leaving yours, I'd love to read them!

Questions:

1 . A book you love: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

This series will always be special to me, because it sparked my love of books.

2 . A book you didn't like: An Abundance of Katherines

I honestly don't know how I managed to finish it; I found it extremely boring. Although I usually enjoy John's stories, this one definitely wasn't for me.

3 . A book that everyone has read except you: Fourth Wing

With all the publicity this book received, it was inevitable that I would find out a few things about it. Although it's a “no” for me, never say never, right? 🤔

4 . A book you've been meaning to read: The Book Thief

This one has been on my TBR list forever; I feel like the right time to read it hasn't come yet.

5 . A book that made you cry: Mockingjay

Not only did I cry while reading this book, but I felt empty for about three days after finishing it. And the epilogue... 💔

6 . A book you read in two days or less: Persona Normal

This book is quite an experience; everyone should meet Uncle Paco.

7 . A book that took you a long time to finish: Insurgent 🔥

Considering that I did like Divergent, I thought this book would be much better, but it wasn't. It was endless, and I never managed to connect with Tris.

8 . Your favorite protagonist: Katniss Everdeen

She is brave, bitter, kind, exasperating, loyal, protective, and even a little selfish. Sometimes I wanted to yell at her, and other times, defend her from everything. However, it is precisely this complexity that makes her such a great character.

9 . Your favorite main character: Percy Jackson 🔱

I love Percy and his sarcasm. Although he should think a little more before acting on many occasions, his impulses are always for good reasons. That's part of his charm.

10 . Your favorite movie based on a book: Catching Fire – Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

I can't choose just one for this question, as the reasons are different but equally important:

Catching Fire (my favorite book) is, without a doubt, one of the best adaptations, not only of the series, but of film adaptations in general. It is very faithful to the book, but it also works very well as a movie. Francis Lawrence achieved the perfect balance.

On the other hand, although The Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite book and movie in the series, I think The Philosopher's Stone, as an adaptation, is a half step above. Chris Columbus managed to convey the essence of the book in a wonderful and magical way.

That's it for this BookTag. Do you agree with any of my answers? Let me know in the comments! Em ✨

👋🏽 Holaa Comunidad.

Question 4: Alchemised and Quicksilver.

Question 5: Duplicity. I balled my eyes out.

Question 6: Tutoring the player

Question 7: Flesh and fire series and Blood and Ash. Jennifer just writes so much and there's not enough time in the world.

Question 8: (I don't think I can choose just one and I am undecided so I'll have to pass on this.)

Question 9: (Passing on this too. I have so many😭)

Question 10: The Maze Runner or Divergent:)

I did not get the finish Percy Jackson so I don't really know about it. But I will try it next year as I already have plans for this one🫠

Very cool idea for a post!

I didn't manage to finish The Book Thief, my opinion is that it's a bit overrated.

It was building up to some genuinely touching moments but overall it seemed a bit too simple as a book, I was expecting something different.

The truth is that looking at the horrors of the Holocaust and WWII from the perspective of a child was not exactly a novel idea, even in 2005.

Within the same genre, I enjoyed much more the movie Jojo Rabbit. I felt like there were more interesting choices there in terms of satire and humor and and the story was more engaging, overall.

There is one storytelling aspect that is unique to The Book Thief but it didn't do much for me.

Still, it's a book loved by many and it might be worth it for you to read it eventually.
