Sin duda, poder disfrutar de la lectura es algo maravilloso. Por eso, hoy quiero continuar con la dinámica de mi último post sobre los elementos esenciales de una historia, profundizando un poco más en tres de ellos.
Hello dear Hive community, I hope you are all doing well. As always, it is a pleasure to come to this space to talk to you about what we love so much: books. Without a doubt, being able to enjoy reading is something wonderful. That is why today I want to continue with the theme of my last post on the essential elements of a story, delving a little deeper into three of them.
Trama/Plot

Sin embargo, entre tantos ejemplos, hay historias que destacan no solo por su extensión, sino porque logran mantener una trama sólida, coherente y bien desarrollada.
This element can be a little complex to explain, because throughout my reading I have found really well-constructed sequences of events in different books. However, among so many examples, there are stories that stand out not only for their length, but also because they manage to maintain a solid, coherent, and well-developed plot.
Me gusta mucho cuando una novela logra equilibrar varios hilos narrativos —como el desarrollo de personajes, los conflictos románticos y los temas familiares— sin perder el ritmo ni el propósito. Creo que una buena trama no necesita ser rebuscada, sino clara, consistente y capaz de llevarnos de la mano desde el primer capítulo hasta el final.
I really like it when a novel manages to balance several narrative threads—such as character development, romantic conflicts, and family issues—without losing its rhythm or purpose. I believe that a good plot doesn't need to be convoluted, but rather clear, consistent, and capable of guiding us from the first chapter to the end.
Tema/Topic
SourcePuede parecer que el tema y la trama son lo mismo, pero no lo son. Mientras la trama es el conjunto de acciones que ocurren dentro de la historia, el tema es aquello que el libro busca transmitirnos, el mensaje que queda resonando dentro de nosotros.
It may seem that the theme and the plot are the same thing, but they are not. While the plot is the set of actions that occur within the story, the theme is what the book seeks to convey to us, the message that resonates within us.
En este punto siempre recomiendo La biblioteca de la medianoche, porque es una novela que ofrece un mensaje profundo de esperanza en medio del arrepentimiento. Nos recuerda que todos, en algún momento de la vida, hemos deseado tener una segunda oportunidad… ¿no creen?Es justamente ese tipo de tema el que hace que una historia trascienda más allá de sus páginas.
At this point, I always recommend The Midnight Library, because it is a novel that offers a profound message of hope amid regret. It reminds us that, at some point in our lives, we have all wished for a second chance... don't you think? It is precisely this kind of theme that makes a story transcend beyond its pages.
Personajes/Characters
SourcceElegir un solo personaje favorito es casi imposible, y por eso prefiero hablar de personajes que, como elementos narrativos, realmente cumplen su función. En este caso, considero que Jacks y Evangeline son una pareja literaria increíble, pero más allá de eso, son personajes muy bien construidos.
Choosing a single favorite character is nearly impossible, which is why I prefer to discuss characters who, as narrative elements, truly fulfill their function. In this case, I consider Jacks and Evangeline to be an incredible literary couple, but beyond that, they are very well-constructed characters.
A través de toda la novela, vemos su evolución, sus contradicciones, su esencia y la forma en la que influyen mutuamente en su desarrollo. Tienen presencia, propósito y vida propia dentro de la historia, y eso es justo lo que hace que un personaje sea memorable.
Throughout the novel, we see their evolution, their contradictions, their essence, and the way they influence each other's development. They have presence, purpose, and a life of their own within the story, and that is precisely what makes a character memorable.
Estos son algunos de los libros que elegiría por la manera en que representan cada uno de estos elementos esenciales. Cada historia tiene algo que enseñarnos y siempre es un placer descubrirlo desde la lectura.
These are some of the books I would choose because of the way they represent each of these essential elements. Every story has something to teach us, and it is always a pleasure to discover this through reading.
