SlothBuzz Radio - More Than Just Music
Cryptoradio.FM is dead. Long live SlothBuzz Radio.
But this isn't just a radio player. It's a whole experience.
The radio is seamlessly integrated into SlothBuzz. It follows you through the entire site - browse Hangs, check your Wallet, read the Feed - the music never stops. A persistent mini-player in the sidebar keeps you connected.
And then there's the game.
Sloth Hangs Racing
Full-screen canvas-based racing game. The sloths in the game? They're real Hive users - specifically, everyone who posted Hangs today.
The sloths hang from branches, then race down. First one to the bottom wins. Races last 2-3 minutes, then reset. New sloths appear when new Hangs get posted.
It's dumb. It's fun. It's exactly what a 24/7 radio stream needs.
We migrated from the old YouTube streaming setup to pure client-side Canvas rendering integrated into Next.js. No more external dependencies.

The Rendering Rabbit Hole
Content rendering is a massive amount of work. And I'm far from done.
Posts and comments need to display correctly - HTML tables, video embeds, images, markdown quirks. HiveBuzz badges. Ecency formatting. InLeo threads. PeakD posts. dBuzz content.
Every frontend around Hive has their own little ideas. Their own formatting habits. Their own edge cases.
I'm trying to support them all. Display everything cleanly. It's slow going.
Why I'm Still Posting via PeakD
The SlothBuzz editor exists. It works. Almost.
The problem: community selection is still buggy. Posts don't always land in the right group.
Work in progress. Will be fixed.

I read your comments. I appreciate them. Love you all.
But I don't respond.
Not because I'm ignoring you. Because I don't have "social media time."
Sounds arrogant. It's not. It's an ADHD thing.
I can only deliver results fast if I kill overhead. And writing comments and responding to feedback is overhead. It breaks the flow.
Which leads to a paradox: to get paid on Hive, I need to write posts. But writing posts is exactly what keeps me from being productive.
Special apology to people like @eddiespino from 3Speak - I will definitely get back to you when I tackle the video stuff. Your feedback means a lot. I genuinely intend to reply, and then I get lost just thinking about it. That's how my brain works. Sorry.

@chiren built a good approach with substrat.io - Patreon alternative on Hive.
That was one of the first things I thought when I started building the new SlothBuzz: we need something like this.
I'm working on it. Under the hood. Not visible yet.
More when it's ready. Or maybe substrat.io becomes really good so that we don't have to build it. Let's see.
