A Rose in a Rosebush

For those who know how to appreciate flowers, there is nothing better than walking in a rose bush; not even the color of the rose will matter, since at his sight he will find all of them beautiful.

At a distance by the smell, he will be able to affirm, that a rose bush is near, and letting himself be guided by the fragrance, he will reach the rose bush; the difficult thing, will be to decide, and among so much beauty to be able to say, my rose will be that one.

So beautiful are the flowers, that even the absurd will be unusual, that the observer of so much beauty will not care that the roses are surrounded by thorns.

I have spoken of the one who knows how to appreciate, but what about the one who knows how to appreciate nothing; well, it will be the same for him, whether it is a rose bush or a paddock for animals.

From afar he will smell the scent, but if he has to speak, his words will be like this: hurry, come on, let's walk, because these squeaky flowers will call for death.

As he comes closer to look, if that's what he's in the mood for, he'll say again: what's the use of so much color if in the end you can't touch them, because they're full of thorns.

Well, as you can see, the difference between the good #appreciator and the one who does not know how to appreciate them is that the first one will notice their beauty and uniqueness, while the other will criticize what he is incapable of appreciating.

In life one is always learning, and I still do not know what I am, if a good #appreciator or one who is learning to appreciate; what I can assure you is that in my hands I managed to take a rose from the great rose bush. And I made her my wife because among all of them I managed to see that she was special and unique in the rose bush.

This poem is part of a poem I wrote some years ago for a girl I was interested in, but as a beautiful rose, I had to let her go and let another gardener take care of her. This poem, as well as some poems I had previously written for my wife, I am now publishing for the first time. That is why I modified the last verse, with respect to the original on paper, bringing it up to date, to the present moment. Where I found the most beautiful rose of all the rosebush. Vilma, my beloved wife.
