Several detonations make the floor at our feet wobble and the entire structure sways from one side to the other making us have to hold on to the safety rails, we continue climbing the emergency stairs as fast as possible, Quibble drops his last mines on the steps to gain a few seconds more time. We reach the ledge of the industrial elevator that would take us out of that putrid pit with rabid corpses thirsting for our blood.
The floor continues to vibrate as the seconds pass with each mine that explodes behind us, the elevator rises but not before making us swallow another few seconds of suspense, after Sadd desperately touches the up button to the point of sinking it into the board. We begin to climb and hear screams, grunts and groans, I immediately charge my Mp7 in the direction of the sound and several more detonations fill the place with smoke, the elevator rises and enters a kind of gate that separates the subway complex with the rails.
Shit that was too easy... - comments Quibb.
Shut up, don't push your luck... - Sadd replies nervously.
Don't let your guard down, check ammo and weapons fast. - I tell them.
I finish reloading my beretta and realize that I have less than half of my ammunition in my machine gun, in my rifle I still have two cartridges left for the pistols, an amount that evidently would not be enough to escape and I doubt that this is the final stage of the map. The elevator continues to rise and wobble as it rises and it seems that we are coming out of the abyss, the pressure in the atmosphere changes when suddenly a strong blow to our feet makes them rise from the ground and we fly towards the ceiling.
The floor of the elevator rises towards us as we fall back and I try to fall with my legs to cushion myself, but the protrusion of the floor and the speed of the impact forces me to cover my head and I end up hitting the wall of the elevator giving me a strong blow to my helmet that makes my left eye go out. Everything is spinning, so I realize that I almost ended up knocked out and I try to compose myself back, but everything around us was shaking and wobbling, the feeling that we were on a pendulum in the middle of nowhere about to detach dominated each of us, who were looking at each other terrified and disoriented thinking what the fuck to do at that moment.
The elevator keeps lurching from one side to the other, I manage to stand up and hold on to the grates of the walls to climb to the roof of the cage that made up the structure of the elevator, when I go halfway Sadd makes a shot with his shotgun towards the grates of the roof piercing it and making a hole big enough for a normal person to pass through. I stop, look at her with a frown at the near friendly fire and realize that because of her armor she won't fit through the hole.

I look back towards the hole and remember that I still have an armor piercing round in my rifle, I let go and drop to the ground again to load the rifle, I aim from the hip with it towards the side of the hole and fire a shot so powerful that the elevator begins to sway sharply again. The sound of the shot deafens all of us and I watch as part of the ceiling disappears with the shot, I switch my SCAR mode to holster it and catch up to Quibb and Sadd who were already reaching the top of the elevator.
As I pass through the hole several objects start banging against the elevator floor again, they sounded dry and wet which gave me to understand that they were pieces of meat hitting from it. Whatever was down there, it had the strength to break a 5cm steel hatch and stop an elevator more than 15 floors high, it was barely holding on to one of the safety ropes and kept swinging.

She steps aside to hold me from the middle of the stairs and welcomes me with her arm, leaning me towards her to secure the backpack.

We begin to quickly climb the stairs, when a loud rumble from the bottom of the abyss warns Sadd to activate the c4's and she does.

Varias detonaciones hacen que el suelo a nuestros pies tambalee y la estructura completa se balance de un lado, al otro haciendo que nos tengamos que sostener de las barandillas de seguridad, seguimos subiendo las escaleras de emergencia lo más rápido posible, Quibble suelta sus últimas minas en los escalones para ganar unos segundos más tiempo. Llegamos a la saliente del ascensor industrial que nos sacarÃa de esa fosa putrefacta con cadáveres rabiosos sedientos de nuestra sangre.
El piso continúa vibrando mediante pasan los segundos con cada mina que estalla detrás de nosotros, el ascensor se eleva no sin antes hacernos tragar otros segundos más de suspenso, después de que Sadd tocara el botón de subida desesperadamente hasta el punto de hundirlo en el tablero. Comenzamos a subir y escuchar gritos, gruñidos y gemidos, inmediatamente cargo mi Mp7 en dirección del sonido y varias detonaciones más llenan de humo el lugar, el ascensor se le eleva y entra en una especie de compuerta que separa el complejo subterráneo con los carriles.
Mierda eso fue muy fácil… - comenta Quibb
Cállate, no tientes a la suerte. - Le responde Sadd nerviosa.
No bajen la guardia, comprueben munición y armas rápido. - Comento.
Termino de recargar mi beretta y me doy cuenta que tengo menos de la mitad de mi munición en mi ametralladora, en mi rifle aun me quedan dos cartuchos para las pistolas, cantidad que evidentemente no serÃa suficiente para escapar y dudo que este sea el stage final del mapa. El ascensor sigue elevándose y tambaleándose mediante sube y parece que vamos saliendo del abismo, la presión en el ambiente cambia cuando de repente un fuerte golpe en nuestros pies hace que estos se eleven del suelo y salgamos volando hacia el techo.
El piso del ascensor de se eleva hacia nosotros cuando caemos de regreso y trato de caer con las piernas para amortiguar, pero la protuberancia del suelo y la velocidad del impacto me obliga a cubrirme la cabeza y termino golpeando la pared del ascensor dándome un fuerte golpe en el casco que hace que se apague mi ojo izquierdo. Todo da vueltas, por lo que me doy cuenta que casi termino noqueado y trato de componerme de regreso, pero todo a nuestro alrededor temblaba y tambaleaba, la sensación de que estábamos en un péndulo en medio de la nada a punto de desprenderse domino a cada uno de nosotros, quienes nos mirábamos aterrados y desorientados pensando que mierda hacer en ese momento.
El ascensor sigue tambaleándose de un lado a otro, logro ponerme de pie y sostenerme de las rejas de las paredes para poder escalar hacia el techo de la jaula que conformaba la estructura del ascensor, cuando voy por la mitad Sadd realiza un disparo con su escopeta hacia las rejillas del techo perforándolo y haciendo un agujero lo suficientemente grande para que pasara una persona normal. Me detengo, la observo con el ceño fruncido por el casi fuego amigo y me doy cuenta que por su armadura no pasara por el agujero.
Otro. - Le digo.
Fue mi último cartucho… - responde.
Miro de nuevo hacia el agujero y recuerdo que aún tengo una bala perforante en mi rifle, me suelto y caigo en suelo de nuevo para cargar el rifle, apunto desde la cadera con él hacia un costado del agujero y realizo un disparo tan potente que el ascensor comienza a balancearse bruscamente de nuevo. El sonido del disparo ensordece a todos nosotros y observo como parte del techo desaparece con el disparo, cambio de modalidad mi SCAR para enfundármela y alcanzar a Quibb y Sadd quienes ya estaban llegando a la cima del ascensor.
Cuando paso a través del agujero varios objetos comienzan a golpear de nuevo contra el piso del ascensor, sonaban secos y húmedos lo que me dio a entender que eran trozos de carne los que pegaban de él. Lo que sea que estuviese allá abajo, tuvo la fuerza para romper una compuerta de 5cm de acero y detener en seco un ascensor a más de 15 pisos de altura, este apenas se sostenÃa de una de las cuerdas de seguridad y no paraba de balancearse.
Tenemos que balancearlo más para llegar hasta esas escaleras! - Dice Quibb mientras las señala.
La distancia hasta ellas era extremadamente considerable, al menos unos 10 u 13 metros del ascensor sin un impulso jamás llegarÃamos, asà que comenzamos a movernos de un lado al otro para balancear el ascensor, con cada movimiento el cable chillaba y se tensaba el doble asà que pasamos de hacerlos todos, a solo hacerlo yo para disminuir la fuerza de tensión en este. CorrÃa hasta un extremo y después me regresaba, cada vez que lo hacia el cable tronaba y chillaba lo que me hacÃa experimentar con un vacÃo en el estómago cada vez que llegaba a un extremo, pero lo que hacÃa funcionaba.
Un poco más… - dice Sadd ansiosa por ser la primera en saltar.
Al ser ella la de mayor peso, generara un impulso más fuerte cuando abandone el ascensor, asà que termino mi carrera en un extremo y sadd comienza a correr cuando el ascensor se acerca de nuevo hacia las escaleras de emergencia. Esta agarra un fuerte impulso en el extremo del ascensor y posa la planta de sus pies en este para saltar hacia la escalera, llega sin problemas, pero el ascensor se regresa con una fuerza más rápida de la esperada y golpea contra una de las paredes del complejo.
Este se regresa mientras vibra por el impacto y comienza a tronar aún más el cable, avanza pero se desprende más la tensión lo que hace que descendamos y levitemos unos cuantos segundos en el aire, corro lo más rápido que puedo mientras aún tengo contacto con la reja del techo, pero noto que estamos demasiado cerca de las escaleras, tanto que Quibble solo tiene que dar un leve salto para llegar hasta ellas, pero yo que iba más atrás, casi la misma velocidad me detengo, por el impacto del ascensor contra las escaleras, este me hace salir volando en su dirección.
Se hace a un lado para poder sostenerme de la mitad de la escalera y me recibe con el brazo apoyándome hacia ella para asegurar la mochila.
¿La quieres llevar tu? - Le pregunto.
Haha ese no es mi rol. - Me responde mientras mira el ascensor el cual habÃa descendido varios pisos más pero aún seguÃa balanceándose de un lado a otro.
Luego lo señala y dice. - Resistió más de lo que aparenta.
Y se comió la mitad de la escalera. - Le señalo mirando hacia nuestros pies. - Gracias iba a morir.
No hay problema. Me responde y se sube el visor para sonreÃrme.
Antes de que pueda detallar su rostro tres paquetes caen a un costado de nosotros y llaman mi atención, terminan entrando en el agujero hacia el fondo de ascensor a nuestros pues y cuando logro detallarlos bien, noto que son paquetes de c4.
¿Por qué no te sacas un jet pack del bolsillo y nos sacas a todos de aqu� - Le comento a Sadd.
Puedo sacarte volando con una de estas en el culo si quieres, olviden su coqueteo, tenemos que salir de aquÃ. - Responde sadd.
Acto seguido desenfunda su Mágnum y realiza un disparo hacia el cable que sostiene el ascensor, lo rompe y el ascensor cae en el vacÃo despareciendo en la oscuridad del túnel. Comenzamos a subir rápidamente las escaleras, cuando un estruendo fuerte del fondo del abismo le avisa a Sadd que active los c4 y esta lo hace.
¡¡ESTAS LOCA!!. - grita Quibb.
Un fuerte temblor sacude todo a nuestro alrededor mientras subimos las escaleras lo más rápido posible, noto una luz naranja que proviene de mis pies y miro hacia el fondo del abismo que ahora era una bola de fuego gigante que avanzaba rápidamente hacia nosotros. Por suerte estábamos a bastante altura y esta termina disipándose antes de alcanzarnos, pero no sin darnos un choque de aire caliente que bien nos pudo quemar la piel si la tuviéramos expuesta.

Responde Sadd con arrogancia, pero es interrumpida por un fuerte gruñido parecido al de un T-rex enfurecido, ya lo habÃamos escuchado antes, pero esta vez nos puso la piel de gallina sobre todo porque tras su gruñido, las paredes comenzaron a temblar en intervalos muy cortos y rápidos, indicando que sea lo que sea esa cosa, está molesta, y se está acercando en nuestra dirección.
