there are various antiques scattered around the park that was a naval base back in the days of wooden sailing ships. these remnants of life in the old days add a lot to the historical atmosphere of the park. some are in good condition while others are gradually falling apart. this old horse-drawn cart comes in the latter category.
the wooden and iron cart has been out of service for many years and is now pretty much beyond repair but the shadows it casts are renewed daily and are as fresh and crisp today as the day it was taken for it's first ride. that leaves me pondering whether or not shadows of antiques can be called antique shadows...
i don't remember how long ago it was placed by the gate to the orchard with fruit trees but it has not been moved since. this wheel gets more slanted each year and if anybody tried moving it now it would probably fall off completely. but as in the lyrics of Leonard Cohen that don't make it junk
i guess one day it will be carted off somewhere but until then i enjoy seeing it each time i visit the park. not the least of reasons is the nice shadows it casts.
Beautiful shadow photos dear.
