here are some evening shadows from late last summer on the docks in the harbor
toward the end of summer the sun sets around 9 in the evening. at that time the docks are fairly quiet on weekdays so it's a great time for some nice long shadows.
the above photo is my contest entry
after school starts in the middle of august some of the restaurants along the harbor are only open on weekends. that gave me the chance to arrange these chairs just right.
this bike was standing against some white cement blocks at a perfect angle to the sun to show some great detail in the shadow
this old wooden and wrought iron bench has been here for years. in the daytime it's usually occupied but in the evening i got the chance to slide it away from the wall to highlight the shadow from the carved wooden back
though the name keeps changing, losen is one of the oldest ice-cream stands/restaurants in the harbor but this year they opened late and closed early. i'm not sure why. there were plenty of customers when it was open even though the competition has increased considerably over the years. the stairs go up to what used to be an infamous night club some years back but there were lots of legal issues and complaints about noise and other disturbances by both residents and boats staying in the harbor so that has been closed down.
looks like it could be an scp xD
what is an scp xD?
oh you dont know? google it
Your entry photo would have been a great Guess the Shadow photo. And I love the way you arranged the chairs to get the ideal Shadow shot. Great photos of Shadows at the dock. Thanks for entering the shadow contest again.
originally i was planning it for GtheS but folks seem to be very quick at guessing water tap so i didn't use it
