Speaking of calories... A 5km easy run seems to burn about 350 Calories. A couple of recent 12km harder faster runs I did burnt 807 and 950 Calories on each. I am not sure if my Watch uses the wrist heart rate monitor in its calculations but I am thinking it must, as the calories stats seem vary more than just the time and distant. Wrist base heart monitors are not very accurate.
Either way we don't use the calories stats much, we just try to eat as clean as possible.
I had been trying to improve my diet for years, unsuccessfully until I met Caroline. Now slowly have been improving things one step at a time. Coca-Cola and beer, to coffee, and now less coffee and more green smoothies. A bit of a shock to your taste buds but you get used to it.
I also work in the food industry I know what stuff there adding to all the processed foods.
We're looking at adding more veggies and less meat to eat meal and actively looking at ingredients lists on food packaging because in Australia they have to list the ingredients in order from highest to lowest percentage. If the first two items aren't real foods or there are too many ingredients that we don't know what the hell they are, we try for an alternative.
Yeah, adding more things that grow in the land, does make a huge difference over just a few days. People just need to try. Also, it regulates hunger a lot more than I expected, and I am not a huge appetite person. Just like food in general.
