When I was walking in the forest of Langsa city in Langsa City, Aceh. I saw a prominent building in the middle of the urban forest. With the architectural style, design and materials that make the building interesting and worthy for me to share with you in this Community. when viewed from a distance, this building made of wood looks like a typical Acehnese house on stilts from the carvings that surround the building. However, when you look closely, this building is just a house on stilts without borders or rooms like a house in general. This is where I found out, especially when I sought information from the building guards. that this building is a building that was deliberately made so that the community and customary stakeholders resolve a problem or discuss important matters that must be discussed together to reach an agreement.
This meeting hall is made of solid resin wood, the building itself consists of two floors with the first floor being used for people sitting while waiting for the results of the meeting, it can also be used for children and toddlers to play here, which is obviously the 1st floor. is a multipurpose floor during a meeting. And on the second floor will be filled by traditional leaders and people who have an interest in the meeting. However, when there is no meeting, the entire floor can be used by the community for activities other than meetings, such as dance practice, regular recitations and so on.
Not just a building, this meeting hall is very unique, around the building there are very neat carvings with typical Acehnese culture, and when viewed closely it turns out that these carvings are made of resin wood as well and painted with gold paint. . The pillars supporting the building are also made of resin wood with the same carvings on the sides of all buildings and re-strengthened with cement mixture to make it strong. Then if we look at the floor, the first floor is made of modern ceramics, while on the second floor still made of wood which is painted using black.
Meanwhile, when we see the roof of this building, the roof is made of palm tree leaves. Not made of zinc or clay tile. So when we see this building, the impression is simple, luxurious and traditional. Unite becomes a very unique building and has high artistic and cultural value. Beside this building, I also found a building that resembles a large barrel and is made of wood, I don't know what the function of this building is, because there is very little information here, but I guess this building can function to store residents' crops so they are not attacked by wild animals and avoid from the rain, because this building also has two floors.
In front of this meeting hall there is a mini garden with well-maintained ornamental plants. Not too lush and shabby. This mini garden actually beautifies this meeting hall. When I was above this meeting hall and saw this mini garden, my eyes which were originally a little tired were refreshed because of the green garden in front of this building. maybe this is one of the functions in the construction of this mini garden, not just for decoration but to refresh the eyes.
In conclusion, this building is very unique and interesting and deserves to be imitated and become your reference if you want to build a modern building without leaving a traditional impression in it. I hope this information is useful, greetings from us, Tomi and Maya from BINjai City, Indonesia.
¡Amazing details in that building @maytom! How interesting patterns and really contrasting the natural elements on the roof. Nice work

I love this meeting hall, it seems the air inside it is very cool.
it's true now this hall is made open there are no walls. and besides that this hall is made in the middle of the forest so it is cool because it is surrounded by trees. Thanks for dropping by.
You're welcome. Wow, if it is in the middle of the forest it is definitely a must-visit site.
Wow, the nuances of Aceh always give a traditional impression. I really like the interior relief design.

Thankyou for your comment @ginethchira2301.do you have a house on stilts like that too?

It is a building that blends in with the environment. The colors and materials are in total harmony. I like the idea of a meeting center to solve community problems. Besides that you feel so much peace in the photo that I am sure that being in the place the mental calm is generous.
