The performing arts theatre building formerly known as the (CVA) I.e convocational arena was issued by the (TETFUND) tertiary educational trust fund. It was first used in the year 2016 for the (Kwasu) Kwara state university first convocational ceremony which involved convocational of over 250 students.
The performing arts theatre was built like a stage play studio with the mixed ideas of a football stadium look alike. There is always an exciting look in e wet corner of the building straight from the front gate down to the back and edges of this lovely building.
The architectural structure is so firm that messes it look eye catching. Looking from the left side of the building is the left gate which somehow looks like an extending spring stylishly made.
The left and right gate has a dome structure made with pillars that would make people just stare at it for no just cause or reason. I guess due to the simplicity in the look of building such infrastructure with a 7*5ft two sided opening or it is the aluminum windows with projected inches and the swing door with a matching color of deep green. Not to forget the tiles also made in brick structure applied to the floor accordingly with a cream color tile in the center to match the color of the building
The school is well known for mostly using clay bricks and lime stone to beautify it’s walls either half way or steadily to the top to make their infrastructures stand out in pictures. The way the pillars are being built are also sweet in the eye one could say the building would last centuries with the proper maintenance.
The left gate also has a two way stairs also beautiful with sweet curves and edges to sit or even try reading on.
The Kwara state university performing art theatre on the inside entails a projector box for displaying things needed to be thought to the students and speaker for enhancing the teaching of students and lecturing for seminars and also for vivid learning due to the movies and stage plays that are to be acted there. Looking at the stage, one could say it is 85inches wide and 32inches deep making it suitable for even the live bands to perform or events artists with the shape of a rectangle making it easy for lecturers and artists to express themselves by moving back and forth while giving speech and performances.
Still on the stage are also a two way opening leading to the rest room beautified with a different level of tiles entirely. The are theatre could be used for various extra curriculum activities apart from classes and art exhibitions. Also could be used to represent seminars or debate contexts.
Now looking at the back of the stage we have the seats that are structured in color red with a pad on each left side to be used for writing. The siting arrangements are made in form of stairs on ascending order splitter in 6 rows making it form an half circled shape to make it convenient for everyone trying to see the appearances on the stage.
It could be said that the intuition of the seat used was brought from that of a plane because the seats are so comfy and easily remodeled after the user is true I.e when people are trying to come in or go out of the venue, the chair sitting structure dosent make it hard for movement. The total number of seats could be predicted to 760 and above without anyone having an issue of not complying to what’s going on stage and that’s what made the performing art theatre artificial work spectacular one could say there are still more advancement to come because the schools motto still stands skills and integrity or like they also say institution for development.
The world class university performing art theatre is a well conducive and spacious arena that is fully equipped with ceiling fans with the right length to blow the heat out of its receivers or the windows opened in every part of the building that unlocks every area of darkness, even if there was light to power the ceiling fans or not there are spaces for natural air flow in and out of the building with making the inhabitants suffocated.
On tho right part of the main gate was the office of the Alumni I.e the section where the ex-students of the prestigious university join hands together to compose and make ideologies on what to help furnish or build in the school community to aid its development.
While in the left side of the front gate was sectioned to the Isec office of the school which could be seen as the schools electoral board capable for the counting of votes and delegating of authorities to the candidates to be voted for. (ISEC) Independent student electoral commission which is currently headed by mr Hassan Tosin abdulraheem also through the Isec public relation officer mr Lawal Ahmed babajide.
Looking from the front outside it could be seen the performing arts theatre entails two Terrance’s and when looking from the left side the schools main administrative building along with the e-library and also the massive Muhammad buhari main library can also be seen and when looking from the right side the e-library annex along with the schools engineering building and I. C. T (information communication technology) building where the school radio is could also be seen.
Now entering the main gate is to meet two long sweet dazzling looking steps on both the left and right hand of the walkway, not to forget the bookshop and a quick stop shop in front to get refreshing items or say tickets for the show. The stairs both leads to the Terrance and then inside the performing art arena but the stairs and walls which cannot just be avoided they look exactly just simple and yet perfect for the matching colors or the cream coloring section showing that part is for walking and the clay color part for sitting on the edges. The architect made the building in every part sufficiently with everything it needs for a very good look.
The performing arts theatre is truly an aspect in art making architectural structure.
