RE: Architecture+Design Community Contest: World Architecture Day || The Sagrada Familia, an architectural emblem of Catalan Art Nouveau. [ENG] / La Sagrada Familia, emblema arquitectónico del Art Nouveau Catalán. [ESP]

Thanks for your comment @storiesoferne.

The first impression that one gets in front of this monument is the grandeur, but a different grandeur that touches you directly to the soul. Regardless of one's religious creed.

There are cathedrals that impress you by their imposing like the Duomo of Milan in Italy or Notre Dame in Paris. In other posts I will talk about them.

However, the Sagrado Familia impresses you by its architecture.

I visited it when I was still living in Italy and some years after Benedict XVI (Pope Ratzinger) consecrated it in November 2010.

It is a style so different from the rest of the cathedrals that I could admire more the architectural style than the religious character of it, although it is present everywhere.

But what impressed me most is the extreme difficulty they have had to build it because of its complexity.

And that is why it is not unusual that nowadays, where construction details are often overlooked, it takes so long to finish it.

There are few construction craftsmen left and La Sagrada Familia needs them to finish the work.

We would like the Foundation to find not only the financial means but also the right skilled labor to complete the work.

Best regards.

Amazing! Thank you for sharing your personal thoughts and experiences with the Sagrado Familia cathedral. That church is certainly a peculiar-looking building from a creative master of architecture. Although complicated in its design, it has truly captured the hearts of millions of people around the world. We hope to witness its enormous grandeur as soon as it reaches its ultimate completion in the near future. Have an enjoyable week @greengalletti.
