They have thus become an important point in the cities of Venezuela. They are located in the heart of the cities and surrounded by buildings of great reputation, headquarters of the political, economic, social, religious and institutional powers that govern each locality. They also have great cultural significance, as history has been staged in their surroundings.

With respect to the statues, although there is no formal regulation, it was customary for the smaller towns to have a bust of the Liberator, the medium-sized ones a pedestrian sculpture and the larger or outstanding ones, an equestrian one. The latter are considered an image of progress and dominion of man, so the heroes are represented on horseback..

On the other hand, decades ago, in these plazas, rules were established that imposed the respect of citizens for the Father of the Nation, which are still in force today. These laws of citizen coexistence include the prohibition of drinking alcoholic beverages, riding bicycles, playing ball, staying overnight and even the dress of the users must keep decorum and respect. Likewise, it is not allowed to sit on the pedestal of the statue of the Liberator, or commit any action that disrespects the place.

Whether as a meeting point, a gathering place, a place for family recreation or a space to relive history and honor the Father of the Homeland, Bolivar Square throughout Venezuela is tradition and reference, a vital center and emblem of the Venezuelan city.

It was designed by Carlos Raúl Villanueva and built by Ernesto León on the grounds of the Las Glorietas hacienda. Currently, this square has been used for recreational and cultural activities, special governmental events, floral offerings from different guilds and institutions, as well as for the lighting of lights during the Christmas season. The monumentality of this scenario went to the imaginary as a "garden city" pride of the people of Aragua.

We finish with some photos of the square at night at Christmas time.
