Tony's Bike : A coffee shop with a design inspired by cycling. Mérida - Venezuela

I've been dying to visit a themed cafe that's been all the talk in my city for a couple of years now. A different cafe that broke with the typical concept we usually find, the ideal cafe for lovers of two wheels, for those passionate about bicycles. This is Tony's Bikes.

A couple of weeks ago, for my birthday, I decided that it was the ideal time to break the wait and meet this beautiful place. So, together with my adventure companions, we moved to the center of the city of Merida to live this experience, which without a doubt left us with a great taste in our mouths. Not only for its excellent gastronomic service. But because it became a true visual delight, thanks to its modern and aesthetic themed design.

Desde hace un par de años, me moría de ganas por visitar una cafetería temática que estaba dando mucho que hablar en mi ciudad. Una cafetería diferente que rompió con el típico concepto que solemos encontrar, la cafetería ideal para los amantes de las dos ruedas, para los apasionados de las bicicletas. Se trata de Tonys Bikes.

Hace un par de semanas, por mi cumpleaños, decidí que era el momento ideal para romper la espera y conocer este bonito sitio. Así que junto a mis compañeros de aventuras, nos trasladamos al. Centro de la ciudad de Mérida a vivir esta experiencia, que sin duda nos dejó un gran sabor de boca. No solo por su excelente servicio gastronómico. Si no, porque se convirtió en un verdadero deleite visual, gracias a su diseño temático, moderno y estético.

Tony's Bikes is located on the popular Amador corner. On 26th Street at the end of Don Tulio Febres Cordero Avenue. Very close to the city's main tourist areas and with a beautiful view of the Sierra Nevada.

Its façade gave life back to the ground floor of the old shopping center. We have a glass-walled façade and a roof covered with the colors of the Italian flag. On its side façade they have a small terrace with some metal tables for those who want to eat outdoors.

Tonys Bikes está ubicado en la popular esquina de Amador. En la calle 26 al finalizar la Av. Don Tulio Febres Cordero. Muy cerca de las principales zonas turísticas de la ciudad y con una hermosa vista a la sierra nevada.

Su fachada le devolvió vida a la planta baja del viejo centro comercial. Tenemos una fachada con paredes de vidrio y una cubierta de techo con los colores de la bandera de Italia. En su fachada lateral tienen una pequeña terraza con algunas mesas metálicas para quienes deseen comer en el exterior.

On its main facade. We find some plants that embellish the entrance and make it more striking, all protected by a railing in red and black colors. The best thing is its main sign in which there are two bicycles that catch the attention. In addition, in white letters we have the name of the cafeteria, the address and they indicate the distance from this place to the cable car of Mérida.

En su fachada principal. Encontramos algunas plantas que embellecen la entrada y la hacen más llamativa, todo protegido por un barandal en colores rojo y negro. Lo mejor es su letrero principal en el cual se encuentran dos bicicletas que llaman la atención. Además en letras blancas tenemos el nombre de la cafetería la dirección y nos indican la distancia desde este lugar al teleférico de Mérida.

As soon as we entered, we were speechless at the sight of their beautiful interior design. It's a modern space, very eye-catching and perfectly lit. The color palette goes perfectly with the ambience and is quite harmonious and striking, and the choice of materials used throughout the interior design turned out to be a great choice, because even though the space is narrow, it looks spacious and they definitely made use of every square inch to fit in as many tables as possible.

Al entrar su hermoso diseño de interiores nos dejó sin palabras. Es un ambiente moderno, muy llamativo y perfectamente iluminado. La paleta de colores combina perfectamente con el ambiente y es bastante armónico y llamativo, además la elección de los materiales usados en todo su diseño interior resulto ser una gran elección, ya que aunque el espacio es estrecho, se ve amplio y sin duda aprovecharon todo el local, para disponer el mayor número de mesas posible.

The first thing that caught my attention was the ceiling. Here we find huge wheels of bikes embedded in a visual, harmonic and different contrast. We find bike parts everywhere, plates, chains, rims and other accessories, all very aesthetically organized.

We can also see specimens of bicycles on the roof surrounded by photographs of cyclists. In Merida, we have several recognized cyclists, every year the city's avenues become the track of hundreds of cyclists who participate in the different annual tours, among the most important is the "Vuelta al Tachira", I wonder if the owners of this restaurant are directly related to this sport, I imagine, yes, maybe its design was inspired by the Known Giro to Italy, but this, they are just my assumptions, what I know is that here you breathe love for this beautiful sport.

Lo primero que llamo mi atención fue el techo. Aquí encontramos enormes ruedas de bicicletas empotradas que hacen un contraste visual, armónico y diferente. Encontramos por todos lados partes de bicicleta, platos, cadenas, rin y demás accesorios, todos organizados de una forma muy estética.

También podemos ver ejemplares de bicicletas en el techo rodeados de fotografías de ciclistas. En Mérida, contamos con varios ciclistas reconocidos, todos los años las avenidas de la ciudad se convierten en la pista de cientos de ciclistas que participan en las distintas vueltas anuales, entre las más importantes está la “Vuelta al Táchira”, me pregunto si los dueños de este restaurante están relacionados directamente con este deporte, me imagino, que sí, tal vez su diseño fue inspirado en el Conocido Giro a Italia, pero esto, son solo suposiciones mías, lo que sé es que aquí se respira amor por este bello deporte.

All these decorations are in perfect balance with the lighting. One of the things that made me fall in love with this café are its hanging lamps. Most of the tables have a hanging lamp in the center. I was able to visualize three different designs. These are blue tones for the four or six seat tables. These are hanging bulbs with gears, very beautiful and different for the two seat tables. And bulbs with tangled golden threads at the café counter. As you can see, these lamps give modernity and elegance to the café.

Todas estas decoraciones están en perfecto equilibrio con la iluminación. Una de las cosas que me enamoraron de este café son sus lámparas colgantes. La mayoría de las mesas cuentan con una lámpara colgante en el centro. Logré visualizar tres diseños distintos. Estás en tonos azules para las mesas de cuatro o seis puestos. Estás bombillas colgantes con engranajes, muy bellas y diferentes para las mesas de dos puestos. Y bombillas con hilos dorados enredados en la barra de la cafetería. Como pueden ver estás lámparas le dan modernidad y elegancia a la cafetería.

Their furniture is modern and we find different models according to the space and the number of seats. I loved the tables for two, whose furniture is airy, padded with a small granite table, they are quite comfortable and occupy very little space, in addition each table has a switch so that people can charge their phones or use their laptops.

The table for four, which is the one we used on this occasion, is very comfortable, even for the youngest in the house. At the back we find a more private space with padded armchairs without a backrest. And in the center of the coffee shop we have traditional round tables in metal, as in the outdoor environment.

Sus muebles son modernos y encontramos distintos modelos de acuerdo al espacio y al número de asientos. Me encantaron las mesas para dos, cuyos muebles son aéreos, acolchonados con una pequeña mesa en granito, son bastante cómodos y ocupan muy poco espacio, además cada mesa cuenta con un interruptor para que las personas puedan cargar sus teléfonos o usar sus laptops.

La mesa para cuatro, que fue la que utilizamos en esta oportunidad, es muy cómoda, incluso para los más pequeños de la casa. Al fondo encontramos un espacio más privado con sillones acolchonados sin espaldar. Y en el centro de la cafetería tenemos mesas redondas tradicionales en metal, al igual que en el ambiente exterior.

In the central part of the cafeteria is the bar and from there we can see its workers, prepare delicious food and drinks, this is a very nice place in every sense, it has everything you need to spend a pleasant time in it. It is quite interesting the concept of its design, very fun and striking, no area is the exception because the ladies' bathroom, despite being small, is quite pretty and clean, I loved the washbasin, with a modern and minimalist style.

En la parte central de la cafetería se encuentra la barra y desde ahí podemos ver a sus trabajadores, preparar comida y bebidas deliciosas, este es un sitio muy agradable en todos los sentidos, cuenta con todo lo necesario para pasar un rato ameno en él. Es bastante interesante el concepto de su diseño, muy divertido y llamativo, ningún área es la excepción porque el baño de damas, a pesar de ser pequeño, es bastante bonito y limpio, me encanto el lavamanos, con un estilo moderno y minimalista.
