Baiturrohman Mosque, Garut city

Have a great Thursday. And I hope everyone is in good health. Anyway, last weekend my friends and I went out of town for a hike. We hired a car and driver to go there. From Jakarta we left around one o'clock at night. Around five in the morning we arrived in the city of Garut, the city we were going to. Because it was time for dawn prayers, we decided to stop at a mosque located on the side of the road. I was amazed by the architecture of this mosque. The name of the mosque is Baiturrohman. The mosque is large and enough to accommodate many worshippers.

The first thing that struck me about this mosque was its grandeur. Although this mosque is not located in a big city, the building is magnificent. Like the photo I took above, the mosque building looks magnificent. Then, this mosque building carries golden white and green colors, both of which are the colors most synonymous with Muslims. That's in my opinion, if anyone disagrees I apologize. At that time it was still dark but this mosque building looked very bright because of its golden white color.

At that point, I admired the mosque building from the front side. Since our main purpose was to worship, I immediately took ablution water before praying. This mosque provides a fairly large ablution place and the building is separate from the mosque building. Next to the ablution place there is also a bathroom. It is rare for mosques to provide bathrooms like this. And I think this is very useful for travelers who stop by this place, they can take a shower. To be honest at that time one of my friends took a shower there, because he was used to bathing before the morning prayer.

When I entered the mosque, I did not pay attention to the inside of the mosque, but prayed immediately. After praying, then I noticed every detail of the interior design and furniture in this mosque. For the color of the room, it is still the same as the front, namely golden white and green. Then they used red for the carpet. But not all are red, there is a little blue in the front row. The design of the room is a bit complicated in my opinion. For most mosques, it's rarely separated inside, so it looks spacious. But for this Baiturrohman mosque, there are several partitions in the mosque which in my opinion makes the mosque look narrower. Then for furniture, they don't put much furniture. There are only a few cabinets to put the Al-Qur'an and prayer tools. Then there was one thing that caught my eye, the lamp. I rarely find mosques using crystal chandeliers like that. I think the lamp is very pretty.

But what still intrigues me is why this mosque is not made like other mosques. I can understand about the sekar on the left, maybe this is to separate male and female worshipers. However, on the right, why should there be stairs going up while this mosque doesn't seem to have an upper floor? I think this makes the space in the mosque even more cramped. Then the last thing I want to talk about is the terrace. There is nothing special, although from a distance this building looks magnificent, when approached the terrace is ordinary. There are several windows there.

Well, that was a little bit of my story about the architecture of the Baiturrohman mosque that I came to when I was in Garut.Overall, I liked the front of the building the most, which looked majestic and shining. I hope you enjoyed reading my writing.
