Hello friends in the architecture and design community! It's already winter in some countries, I hope everyone is keeping warm to avoid catching a cold. In Indonesia, it's currently the rainy season but the weather is still warm. At the end of the year like this, many Indonesians usually take a vacation abroad to experience winter. Speaking of winter, as we know that Sa pa city, Vietnam is the only city in southeast Asia that has winter. But I don't want to talk about winter in Sa pa, but I want to talk about the icon of Sa pa city, Sun Plaza Station or also known as Sa Pa Station.
SUN PLAZA STATION
The city of Sa pa does have many buildings with outstanding architecture. Some of them I have posted before. This time it is the turn of the icon of Sa Pa city, Sun Plaza station which also has a fascinating architecture. This building is located in the city center and is the face of the city. From the front, the building looks very solid and majestic. This European-style building at the time made me unable to believe that I was still in Southeast Asia, not Europe. It was a beautiful building with three clocks on the front. The top is also unique, I think it looks like the top of a mosque. Apart from the shape of the building, what's interesting about this building is its color. The Sun Plaza building is dominated by dark green color fused with several other colors such as white, beige, yellow making the building look more elegant. Next to it is BB hotel which has the same color as Sun Plaza, making this area look more beautiful even from a distance.
Not only does the outside look beautiful, but the architecture inside Sun Plaza station is equally beautiful. Let's start from the lobby area. There are three tall glass doors, I forget if all three are passable or just one. It was nighttime, so there were lights on the glass doors. The interior was painted with white and yellow colors. There are two paths, one way up with an escalator, the other is a few steps down and then there is an entrance hall. The long hallway looks beautiful with a floor with black and white motifs.
Honestly, I wondered to myself if this was really a station. Because it doesn't look like any other station. While walking down the aesthetic hallway, there was a ticket booth on one side of the hallway. Then there are table chairs placed on the right and left sides of the hallway. It's like I'm walking into a fancy restaurant instead of a station. There is indeed a cafe on one side of the hallway leading to the station. And everything looks very aesthetic and classy. The beautiful furniture seems to blend in with the room. I don't know, I don't know how to put it into words. One word for sure about this place is amazing.
After passing through the hallway, the area is larger but a bit empty. There were only two massage chairs and then two claw machines by the window. But even though it's empty, the area still looks aesthetically pleasing. The last is the gate area leading to the monorail. It turned out that I only took photos until this part. But the overall floor and walls are the same. Maybe the only difference is the queue barrier to the monorail.
What do you think of the architecture and design of the Sun Plaza station? I hope you fall in love with Sun Plaza station like me.
