Many of us appreciates the big mansions and the excellent edifice of the cities around us. It is good, but we must learn to also appreciate the little beginnings of architectural designs. We need to be reminded that before we get to where we are today, we've all, at one point or the other being here, and it is interesting to know that some are STILL HERE!

Few days ago, I was on my way to my farm when I observed these old rugged buildings, and thought it necessary to share them with you.

Although this type building was supposed to be a temporary dwelling place of the Tiv tribe of Nigeria, it has however become their home for decades.

BOYS ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT SMILING...🤓😍😂

The Tiv people are a farming people, who are found almost everywhere in the country. They travel far and wide in search of fertile agricultural lands, and once they are able to get one, they quickly settle down in such a place and they soon begin to build their huts.

Obviously, these are mud houses, with grass roofs, this implies that they spend little or nothing in raising these huts. The needed materials for building, that is, mud, sticks and grass are readily available all around us.

The only thing they might need to buy is the cement for plaster, and as you can see from my pictures, the use of cement is somehow optional.

Once they get every needed thing, they simply begin to build by themselves. These local builders are amazing to watch. They are unlearned but excellent at what they do, that's why I think they are worthy of recognition, hence, I bring you their work.

As much as I would love to show you the the interior view of these excellent design, it's such a pity that I was not afforded the opportunity to enter them, but anyhow, I think they are amazing. What do you think my friend?
