Universidad Catolica del Tachira, a building with stories and experiences [Eng-Esp]

Greetings friends, lovers of architectural works! I am pleased to show you my visit to the old building of the Catholic University of Táchira, the house of study where I began my career and to which I owe so much. Come with me and I will show you.

This house of study has been seeing students come and go from all over the Andean region since 1962. It is a private institution but offers scholarship programs to outstanding students and scholarship work for students to help in the library, cafeteria and copy center in their free time.

I loved coming back to this place. I felt many emotions, nostalgia for the school years and I was happy to see how they keep the place so well maintained even though they now have a new headquarters that is a huge campus.

The structure was formerly owned by the Catholic church. So they still maintain the church and hold religious celebrations. The hallways with antique but perfectly polished granite give a special touch to this place.

The antique wooden doors, stained glass windows and large windows, are maintained from the original construction.

In front of the church, a building was built to house the law school. It is a rustic but modern building and I like that. My faculty was upstairs where the administration and accounting classrooms are located, but I was always in the law school, which had ample space and was very cool.

In the center of the main building is a beautiful garden. The shrubs and plants that adorned the place served as an escape for students to clear their minds after class.

The large theater, which unfortunately was closed on the day I visited, has the capacity for all students and some guests. Not only are lectures, exhibitions and university meetings held here, but also plays and musical presentations.

It has a large library which is a relief for students who cannot afford to buy the expensive texts related to their careers.

The cafeteria was my favorite area, they have a large number of tables and a varied menu for students. I loved to get out of class and take refuge in the hot breakfast offered in the cafeteria.

I was asking around and they told me that now some administration offices are located here and some classes are still active, but most of their activities are located in the new campus.

I really enjoyed visiting my old house of study. Although I only studied there for one year, it was a year of effort where I had to travel by bus for more than an hour and a half to get to class on time.

I owe a lot to this university that formed the basis of my career and taught me so many things about life.

I thank you for joining me to walk these halls of the university. See you next time, Bye!

Wow, how cool! I brought some study facilities from a university today too, but this place takes the prize, I love the antique design and the clean granite floor. The green grass is very cool. You did your degree in a beautiful space.

How nice to read what you say about your old school and how much you appreciate it. It must have been exciting for you to be able to visit it again, and reawaken all those memories. Nice pictures of the place.
