RE: How Architecture Affects The Way We Feel

in Architecture+Design5 years ago (edited)

We may take the simple colors of our surroundings for granted. Yet, are you aware that colors plus the different hues and tones that go with them have a massive effect on our moods and emotions?

Thank you @storiesoferne for letting me know that warmer color is used to intentionally encourage customers to stay (I can use this in my future endeavor). If a customer stays longer they may buy more than usual.

Good afternoon Erne, I just read your post How Architectue Affects the way we Feel and it seemed excellent and very didactic, especially for those who see architecture as an art with only aesthetic values. I would like to tell you that a couple of social psychologist, friends of my, conducted a study that tried to demonstrate the thesis according to which many people who are forced to change their habitat, and therefore their social environment, carry the acquired customs with them and find it difficult to fully adapt to the new home, even when it is qualitative and quantitatively better. Have a happy weekend. I hope to continue reading your works in the near future.

Hello there Benjamin. As most of us are accustomed to architecture as only influencing us from a visual or aesthetic perspective, there's actually more happening beneath the surface. Subconsciously, our emotional, psychological, sensual, and spiritual factors are triggered by the various built environments we are exposed to. In other words, the human experience is a key component in fulfilling architecture's significance in the world. I'm glad that you have closely associated with friends with regard to this specific study.

I'm currently diving deeper into this particular niche because it's absolutely interesting plus this helps me understand more our important behaviors and relationships with architecture. Stay tuned for more stories about this. Have a great weekend @besamu!

You're welcome @afterglow. Unless a person is color-blind, the colors of life absolutely affect our moods and behaviors. For the entrepreneur, the knowledge of color therapy would either make or break his ventures.
