Hive Gained a new Fellow.

One time I was going to be a medical doctor, another time, a pilot.

In my daydream I see a legal practitioner, in my nightdreams was a seasonal politician.

Don’t mind me, I was just a brilliant and motivated kid that thinks he can become anything he wants to be, little did I know I was rather convincingly confused and indecisive. Out of this confusion, I applied to study law, in one of the most prestigious universities in my country. Yes! I’m a born and bred Nigerian citizen.

Law was a highly competitive course, so I missed out by 2.7%. Quite unfortunate innit? Sorry to disappoint, but that happens to be the most fortunate part of my life story.

I was made to study philosophy as an alternative. Yeah, I’m always open to learn new things, so I took the challenge and I kept moving. But nah! Philosophy was so much abstract that nothing seems to be making sense until my 3rd year when I stumbled upon an ancient philosophical phrase “Know thyself” - you need to know how powerful these two worded phrases meant to me, the weight it carries to clearly understand how powerful it can be. - not to bother you 😒. It’s a philosophical phrase that implores man to search himself to understand his purpose.

As someone that’s always bothered by career choice, I took that phrase upon myself, searched inwardly, reminisced about my past, traveled down the years of memory lane. After some weeks and days, I FOUND MYSELF.

Spoiler alert ‼ I found myself not as a medical doctor I once dreamed of neither in an aeroplane piloting passengers.

I didn’t find myself in a court of law as a legal practitioner nor did I find myself as a seasoned politician.

I found myself on the street of Nigeria hawking puff puff. Funny is it?😂. Yes, this was what I was doing as far back as when I was 6-8 years old. These were years I had to hawk things around the street to make a living - we deemed this normal since I’m from a humble background.

As small as I was, I knew waking up as early as 6:00am was very key to generating many sales that I would miss if I woke up a minute late. I knew the exact streets and corners where my target customers were, I knew where else to find them if they were not in their usual places. I understand clearly their best buying habits and I had the key secrets to edging out my fellow puff-puff sellers that many of them started hating on me lol.

I generated so many sales that my mum would keep wondering how and this continued until I no longer had to continue hawking. My selling prowess has generated so much money that mum had enough to open a mini shop and customers from every corner of my town came to patronize. HERE’S WHERE I FOUND MYSELF! Knowing that my purpose in life is to make business grow.

Studying a 4-year course only to discover myself might sound weird but it’s a one time learning experience that’s actually set me free from indecisive career choice.

Barely 3 years after graduation, I’ve built a career as a marketing strategist and grew 3 major companies to an admirable level. Now I’ve been creating contents sharing growth strategies and tips to help personal brand and businesses grow.

This is a reputation I’ve built on some of my web2 social media pages and this feels like the right time to extend my feathers to the beautiful people here on Hive.

Shoutout to my big brother @moremoney28 and my sister @storygoddess who both showed me there’s a great potential here. With your help and support, I’m confident this is a place to thrive and yeah….
