It's the Christmas season, and everywhere is filled with a bustling atmosphere. Irrespective of the religion, everyone wants to celebrate and enjoy the goodness in the season. Since it's Christmas, people are expected to go out either with family or friends for hangouts and get together which some only have the opportunity to do during holidays. But then what about those of us that don't like going out of our homes even when there is celebration? I am an indoor person; I find it a bit difficult to go out even when there is a need for it. I see it as a stressful thing to do, aside from going to school, church, and work.
Going out seems like a punishment to me. In this festive period, there are a lot of outings that I'm sure I won't be attending. As an indoor person, I enjoy being in my space, alone in my room with no noise or any form of distraction. As a lover of music, it makes me not bored of staying indoors; I'm always glued to my Airpod or headset, streaming quality songs online and writing. I don't do movies much; I prefer watching funny videos on TikTok, which keeps me busy.
Some people believe those who are indoors are anti-social well; I don't believe that. It's just my choice and that's for my sanity and peace of mind. I hate getting involved in other businesses and vice versa, which results in an argument or misunderstanding or fight, which I'm strongly avoiding. Another favorite activity I engaged in while indoors was cooking. I love trying new recipes and cooking new dishes, and this has helped me so well to improve my cooking skills. This is what I love most about Christmas and it always makes Christmas memorable.
Christmas is a season of love, giving to the less privileged and coming together as one, which makes a lot of difference in many people's lives. Having to spend time with our loved ones is what makes life fun and worth living. For those who don't like going out, having people around, even in the house, is all that matters. This is why I prefer having my loved ones around even if I didn't go out and that's what makes Christmas fun for me.
The 2023 Christmas was my favorite Christmas experience. I have been celebrating Christmas with my extended family ever since I was young, but 2023 was special to me because I got to see my grandfather before he passed away. It was as if he knew he was going to die this year. Last year, he called all the grandchildren, which I happen to be one and all the great-grandchildren, and prayed for us all from the bottom of his heart. Celebrating Christmas with my grandparents is always fun, especially because of the old stories they tell us, which seem superstitious to this present generation. Celebrating with him when he was alive made 2023 Christmas my favorite and most special. This year, we all celebrated Christmas in our various homes, which made me miss him so much.
