A Thing or Two about me (My Introductory Post)

Hello everyone. This is my Introductory post on the hive blog, and I am really excited being a part of this wonderful community. Although I've been registered for some weeks now after being introduced by a friend of mine, @alvanozie, I've not really being active but taking my time to go through the platform to learn from other members through their posts so as fully understand how the community works. Allow me to properly introduce myself properly.

My name is Elvis Itoya, I am from Edo State. I strongly believe in the power of connection and shared experiences. I’m eager to learn from each of you and contribute what I can to this space.

I am a Student of Ambrose Ali University (AAU), Ekpoma, in Edo State. I am currently undergoing an undergraduate degree course in Software Engineering. By God's grace, I am two years down the line. Aside from the knowledge I've acquired from the four walls of the university classrooms, I am also grateful for the additional knowledge I have garnered as a result of certain people I've met and the exposure to a different environment and their ways of doing things.

Beyond the my course of study, I have a wide range of interests that keep me busy. I love reading alot, and I happen to have a deep interest for science fiction and historical fiction. I love it when I exposure my mind with information that helps to expand my perspective and fuels my imagination. Lately, I am seeing myself consuming a lot of Neal Stephenson and Madeline Miller works. Recommendations are always welcome!

Music is another significant part of my life. I love writing songs and I've managed to record a few. I really enjoy attending live concerts whenever I get the chance. My taste for music has to do with Afro beats and a little of Rhythm and Blues (RnB). Music, for me, is a universal language that connects us all.

When I am less busy, especially when I am at home due to my school being on vacation, I enjoy spending time outdoors. It could be taking a leisure stroll in my neighborhood, or visiting some of my old friends. Sometimes I intentionally disconnect myself from anything that has to do with technology and connect with the natural world.

I also love travelling a lot. Exploring new cultures, trying out new things, and meeting people from diverse backgrounds is something I find incredibly enriching. One thing that travelling helps me to do is broaden my horizons and also help me to understand the world more better. I hope to travel the world someday you know, get the chance to see what it's like over there

I'm joining this community because I believe in the power of shared knowledge and collaborative learning. I’m eager to engage in meaningful discussions, learn from your experiences, and contribute my own perspectives. I’m particularly interested in connecting with others who share my interests in technology, literature, music, and of course, travelling.

I’m looking forward to getting to knowing you guys and becoming an active member of this community. I'm always open to making new connections and engaging in interesting conversations. I believe that we can all learn from each other, and I’m excited to embark on this journey together. Thank you for welcoming me!
