I like how you ended this. It's only for movies. The real life will teach you that what will be will only be when you let it be. And yes, there are situations that might seem beyond us, but then we have to still see what can be done.
This statement largely encouraged passivity and mediocrity. It's a cheap and lazy way out of a situation.
