Eddie, Keso, and I had an important—and genuinely productive—conversation this morning. Yes, we all know shorts matter. We all know people want shorts. But how we integrate them into 3Speak… that’s the real question.
As some of you might know, I built a separate video service on top of 3Speak’s infrastructure. The idea was simple enough: with this service in place, other frontends and apps can easily integrate video uploads directly into their composers. Clean, modular, reusable. In theory.
In practice? Tracking those uploads—those embedded videos—turns out to be a bit of a nightmare.
A puzzle.
And yes, the kind of puzzle I tend to get a little obsessive about. I eventually asked for some guidance from a few of the “real devs” on the platform, and to their credit, they nudged me in the right direction. After smacking my head against the wall for a while, I stumbled upon some example code that finally made HAFSQL behave less like an enemy and more like a reluctant friend.
So this little devlog is about that adventure.
