Art manifests itself in various ways, and in Cumana there are several institutions dedicated to promoting these expressions. I have previously written about the University of the Arts, the Technical School of Visual Arts, Fundacultura, Fundapatrimonio, the Regional Cabinet of Culture, the Ateneo, the Sucre State Art Gallery, and the activities organized by the Andrés Eloy Blanco House and the Ramos Sucre House.
It is clear, then, that the education of children and young people focuses on developing their innate abilities. Schools and institutions offer alternatives for training and preparation in different artistic disciplines. This shows that culture is promoted and traditions are honored in Cumana.

Now I will tell you about another cradle of talent, the Puppet School, which is located next to the University of the Arts on Cantaura Street. So this artistic expression, which comes from the theater, also has a place to train puppeteers and marionette artists professionally. Therefore, the training of artists in Cumana goes beyond painters, sculptors, dancers, and musicians.
The facade of the institution gives an idea of what is taught there. The allegorical murals, with very colorful characters, evoke puppet theater, which is now seen as a tradition in danger of extinction due to the advancement of technology and its impact on the imagination, especially that of children. Without a doubt, the greatest reference point for puppet creation in the country is Armando Reverón, the great artist who left behind his Castillete with several of his works and the famous puppets he made together with his wife.
As part of a generation that grew up fascinated by the life that puppets take on in the right hands, I believe that this art should endure because it is not just about making the puppets, but also writing a script that makes people laugh and moves them, just like in the theater. It is precisely this human capacity that must be preserved.

El arte se manifiesta de diversas maneras y en Cumaná existen varias instituciones dedicadas a promover estas expresiones. Ahora les hablaré de otra cuna de talentos, la Escuela de Títeres, la cual está ubicada al lado de la Universidad de las Artes en su sede de la calle Cantaura. Así que también esta manifestación artística que proviene del teatro tiene un lugar para formar a titiriteros y marionetistas de manera profesional. Por tanto la formación de artistas en Cumaná va más allá de pintores, escultores, bailarines y músicos.
La fachada de la institución concede un idea de lo que allí se imparte, los murales alegóricos, con personajes muy coloridos, evocan al teatro de títeres, que ahora es visto como una tradición en peligro de extinción debido al avance de la tecnología y su incidencia en la imaginación, sobre todo en la de los niños. Sin duda el mayor referente de la creación de títeres en el país es Armando Reverón, el gran artista que dejó para la posteridad su Castillete con varias de sus obras y los célebres muñecos que fabricó junto a su esposa.
Como parte de una generación que creció fascinada con la vida que cobran los títeres en las manos adecuadas, considero que este arte debería perdurar porque no solamente es fabricar los muñecos sino también escribir un guión para que hagan reír y también conmuevan, tal como en el teatro, justamente esa capacidad humana es la que se debe preservar.
