Random snaps at parties, quick snaps at skate spots, the excitement of opening an envelope of finished prints like opening a mystery bag of surprises.. A lot of my adolescence and early twenties are documented on grainy, 4x6 prints that I look at on occasion to remember.
I get nostalgic for the disposable film cameras, not only for the memories of good times they captured or the shenanigans and pranks I'd do with them, but the photos just have that look to them.
Looking at them makes me feel like back in the day. They have that very 2000's feel to them.
I bought a disposable a while back and have been slowly snapping pictures with it but I still have just a couple left before it's done. I'm going to share some of them here once they're developed.

For Christmas this year I got a Camp Snap camera. No screen, no filters, just a basic viewfinder, lens, shutter button, and picture counter. Quality designed to mimic the disposable camera.
Lightweight and compact like the disposables, almost exactly the same! No paying and waiting for developing the film on this one though. Just a quick USB plug in and copying to my tablet or laptop.
The digital answer to my nostalgia, the not-so-disposable camera of the future!😂

I've snapped a few photos with it the last couple days. It does give somewhat of that nostalgic feel, especially in less lighted areas and using the flash. A little grainy when the light isn't great, and some motion blur which is expected. About what I was expecting with a disposable as the standard.
We went out for my boy's birthday dinner. Mexican food is always best choice!

And of course a picture of my doggie Oakley!

Overall I'm very happy with my camera gift! I'll have a disposable type camera for when I'm feeling nostalgic and wanting to take some random photos!
I will still get the real deal film cameras from time to time. As much as I like the Camp Snap I still will always prefer film over digital but this thing is pretty cool and I had to share. I will be posting some photo dumps from it here and there, if you're interested in that then please stay tuned!
Thanks for reading and have the best day you can!
