FOODlog #1280: Cantonese Steamed Fish & Ginger Egg Soup

in Daily Blog3 months ago

Everyone seems to be falling sick and getting sore throat. It was my turn to prepare staff meal and I made some Cantonese steamed Seabass and a soup that my Mum made when we were growing up, ginger and egg soup. No fried food, lighter and a more rejuvenating meal that was so delicious!

For the fish I simply steamed the fish then topped it with lots of sliced ginger and drenched it with a sauce made with soy sauce, water, and sesame oil. Super simple but extremely delicious and satisfying!

The egg soup didn't turn out looking as good as the one my mum makes but the taste was exactly as it should be.

My sous made a spiced masala tea to pair with the meal. Such a satisfying and delicious meal especially on a cold and rainy day like it's been the past few weeks.
