Sunshine and smiles, Hivers! I'm back again for my last blog this week! Today, I want to share to you my experiences attending a Korean event at our school. This event was organized by the Koreans who came to our school to connect with students here in CTU Danao Campus interested in studying in Korea or becoming exchange students. Let’s dive in!

Last Friday, during the event, some Koreans were in our event encouraging us to check out their event on the 4th floor of the CME Building. My friends and I decided to attend their event, and I was surprised to see that they had booths set up for students who wanted to participate in their activities.

One of the Koreans who invited us to enjoy the event was someone whose name I forgot, but she was a Japanese. She mentioned that she was thrilled to be at our school because everyone she interacted with was incredibly friendly and accommodating. She offered to paint my face, but I declined since my skin is quite sensitive. Instead, I suggested she paint my hand so I wouldn’t make her sad because I refuse her offer to paint my face. I chose a cat design, and she began to draw it on my hand.

After that, I joined my friends who were trying on hanboks. Hanbok is traditional attire for Koreans, and wearing it is also part of their culture in Korea. Here’s a photo of them wearing the hanbok. While they were dressed up, one of the Koreans offered to take a picture and print their pictures for free.

I was also love to try wearing hanbok. I approached Julia, one of the Koreans who invited us to the event. Julia was very kind and friendly, and although I forgot her Korean name because it's a bit difficult for me to pronounce, she helped me select a hanbok that would fit me. This is a picture of me in the hanbok. It was my first time wearing one since I haven't had the privilege to visit Korea or any place where I could try on their traditional attire.

Here’s my printed picture. As you can see, I look a bit stressed and my hair is quite frizzy. I wasn’t prepared when the picture was taken.

Afterward, we wandered around the area, and they mentioned having a mini program during the event. They planned to perform a dance and demonstrate how they pray.

I also requested one of the Koreans to make me a flower balloon because it was so cute and beautiful. My friends wanted balloons too. We took pictures with them as well since they were fun to be around and all very adorable.

During the mini program, some of the Korean women danced to K-pop songs. Following that, they show to us how they worship. They also handed out souvenirs, a small package containing various candies from their country.

Here are our pictures with them when one of their leaders announced we could take pictures with them.

One of the members was especially cute, and I really liked him because he was polite and friendly. His smile was charming and made him even more stunning and handsome!

This person told me I was beautiful in Bisaya, which really surprised me since she was speaking our dialect. She only knows some basic Bisaya phrases, and I taught her a few more that she wasn't familiar with. I also asked her for the Korean translation of "nice to meet you" and how to introduce yourself, as I wanted to confirm if my translation was accurate for our foreign language class. I learned some new words from Korean since they were eager to help me learn how to speak it and pronounce it properly.

After that, they began packing their things and bidding farewell to the students who enjoyed the event. There was this cute Korean guy who took some time to take pictures with us while giving out small pouches filled with candy.

Our school has extensive connections with international communities, including those from Asian and American countries.

And that's the end of my blog, Hivers! Thank you for taking the time to read it. Hopping to have more interactions with international people here on Hive. Ciao!
