Hello everyone, this is the last "Daily Blog" I'll be doing this year, and I wanted to capture a bit of the hustle and bustle of the last few days. Well, even if we don't want to, these days leading up to Christmas or New Year's are always hectic, and it's not about leaving everything to the last minute, but rather that there are so many details to consider when welcoming the new year or Christmas, however simple our celebration may be.

I made hallacas a few days before Christmas because I had orders for my business, however, I made twice as many as planned, and in the end, I didn't leave any for my own dinner because they all sold out. That was wonderful; I toasted to that, I celebrated that success because it had never happened before, but to be honest, I was too tired to make more hallacas for the house afterward, and since I had some that had been given to me, they solved my Christmas dinner dilemma.

But I'd been thinking about the 31st for days, about dinner, about hallacas, and without thinking, I didn't plan much. I went out shopping on Friday and spent the weekend preparing another batch of hallacas, but this time fewer because why so much, if they're for the 31st and January 1st... maybe I'll save one for my birthday in case there's no cake, hahaha.

Regarding desserts, between the business and home, we've made all kinds of desserts, and there's always some left over, so this year the variety of desserts is quite extensive. There's papaya sweet, black cake, pumpkin cake (from an order I delivered yesterday and there were some left over), there are cookies, and by the way, there are orders for eggnog cake for tomorrow, so we'll be adding another dessert to the menu. If we have visitors, there will be plenty to enjoy with coffee or tea.

But the hustle and bustle continues because there are still food purchases to be made, personal errands to run, and the city is gridlocked with the transportation and gasoline shortages… and like good Venezuelans, we always leave everything until the 31st. I'm still trying to do some shopping early today since yesterday I was busy cleaning the house and didn't have a chance, and I'm hoping to get out of all that soon so I can just focus on cooking and getting things in order without having to worry about running errands.

One of the things that brings me the most joy, and for which I thank God, is being able to welcome the new year in abundance, having enough food in my home, something that wasn't so easy a few years ago. I'm also grateful to know that my children are well, that they are healthy and happy, and that even though we're far apart, we remain united and connected to celebrate the arrival of another year.

My greatest wish, as every year, is that this well-being and prosperity will multiply not only for me and my family, but for all beings in the world. May there never again be a lack of food in any home, nor in any belly anywhere in the world. Thank you to the entire "Daily Blog" family for being a part of my daily life in 2025… may you all have a wonderful and blessed new year!!

Hola a todos, éste es el último “Daily Blog” que haré este año, y quise recopilar un poco el agite de los últimos días. Bueno, aunque no queremos, siempre estos días de víspera de navidad o de año nuevo, son agitados, y no se trata de dejar todo para el último momento, sino de que son muchos detalles para recibir el año venidero o la navidad, por muy sencilla que sea nuestra velada.

Yo hice hallacas días antes de navidad porque tenía encargos en mi emprendimiento, sin embargo hice el doble de lo planificado, y al final no dejé nada para mi propia cena porque se vendieron totalmente. Eso fue maravilloso, brindé por eso, celebré ese éxito porque nunca había sucedido, pero soy sincera, luego me dio mucho cansancio preparar más hallacas para la casa, y como tenía unas que me habían regalado, ellas me resolvieron la cena de navidad.

Pero llevaba días pensando en el 31, en la cena, en las hallacas y sin pensarlo no lo planifiqué mucho, salí el viernes a hacer las compras y pasé el fin de semana preparando otro lote más de hallacas, pero esta vez menos cantidad porque para qué tanto, si son para el 31 y el primero de enero… quizás deje una para mi cumpleaños en caso de que no haya torta, jajajajaja.

Con respecto a los postres, entre el emprendimiento y la casa, se han hecho postres de todo tipo, y siempre queda algo en la casa, así que este año la variedad de postres está nutrida. Hay dulce de lechosa, torta negra, torta de auyama por un pedido que entregué ayer y sobraron algunos, hay galletas, y de paso, hay encargos de torta de ponche crema para mañana, así que por ahí se agrega un postre más a la casa. Si llega visita, no faltará nada que brindar con cafecito o té.

Pero los agites siguen porque hay compras pendientes de la comida, y detalles personales, y la ciudad anda colapsada con ese lío del transporte y la gasolina… y como buenos venezolanos, siempre dejamos todo para el mismo 31. Yo sigo haciendo el intento de hacer unas compras hoy temprano ya que ayer me dediqué a limpiar la casa y no tuve chance, y esperando poder salir pronto de todo eso para únicamente dedicarme a cocinar y poner orden sin estar pendiente de más salidas.

Una de las cosas que me da más alegría, y agradezco a Dios, es poder recibir el año en abundancia, que haya suficientes alimentos en mi hogar, algo que algunos años atrás no fue tan fácil, también saber que mis hijos están bien, que gozan de salud y bienestar, y que aún en medio de la distancia, seguimos unidos y conectados para celebrar la llegada de un año más.

Mi mayor deseo, como cada año, es que se multiplique ese bienestar y esa prosperidad no sólo para mí, y mi familia, sino para todos los seres del mundo. Que no falte nunca más el alimento en ningún hogar, ni en ninguna pancita en el mundo entero. Gracias a toda la familia “Daily Blog” por ser parte de mi día a día en el 2025… que tengan todos un maravilloso y bendecido año nuevo!!
