Rise of a new Splinterlands Guild!

Guild Cartel!

On Feb26, 2022, I wrote this post about me joining the Shield of Glory guild. I started with the guild in June 2021. At the time it was a level 8 guild. I wrote a bit of the early history on that post, so no point repeating that. Fast forward to present day: We are now a series of three guilds:

  • Shield of Glory
  • Aegis of Glory
  • Guardians of Glory

As of the time of this writing, all three guilds are Level 10. All three are in the top 15. Addition of the last two are a fairly recent development and quite successful. Thanks of my active guild mates @xsuilx, @misterrogers, @star-shroud, SOG leader @zagorlord and many of the other active other guild mates, we have now put together quite a decent team in a short order.

Vision

We are a fairly open and democratic guild. So, I don't want to put my personal vision into the guilds, as this is neither official not vetted. Also this is not exactly the vision of SOG guild rather my personal vision of guilds in general. So, please take that into account. Also this is not something that I have a clear thought about, or something that is set is stone, rather this is an evolving thought process.

For a while I am of the opinion for few basic items regarding Splinterlands guilds:

  1. Guilds are like professional soccer, or football or baseball clubs
  2. They are effectively businesses; sometimes profitable, other times not
  3. Just like any professional clubs, it consists of players, sometimes very valuable players
  4. Players can join, leave; in future can be bought/sold, just like any professional drafts
  5. Guilds, which are clubs, can similarly be bought/sold
  6. There are owners and managers of the guilds
  7. Guilds have value, players have value: monetary value

The Splinterland game is evolving, and we have yet to establish a earning mechanism for the guild itself, but trust me, that will come. Currently with the SPS rewards for brawls, guild participation has never been more lucrative. With the termination of DEC rewards and return of DEC value to the peg, leveling up guilds are now expensive. In fact, Luis and I leveled up Guardians of Glory to Level 10 the night before the termination of DEC rewards announcement, and subsequent rally to the price of DEC. We congratulated each other, that we dodged a bullet!

Why 3 Guilds?

Most top Splinterlands guilds have multiple feeder guilds. Some of them are around for a long time. For all practical purposes, compared to them, at least I consider ourselves newcomers and amatuers! Yes, I like to be humble.

If you look at the vision and performance of the individual guilds of our cartel, you can observe that Shield of Glory is the main and oldest guild; and consists of players who like to do competitive brawl battles and rank quite high both in the Wild and Modern format, typically majority of them finish in the Champion League. Guardian of Glory is the next tier, and has lots of good players, but some who plays excellent at lower leagues. Aegis of Glory, is the laid back and relaxed place, chill and cool kids dwell there!

This is the status right now. We are open for new and interesting players. We encourage card ownership. I almost want to say, we 'require' card ownership, but these days rentals are cheap and quite effective, so I know quite a few players who are quite effective in renting cards and battle. However, I personally think, it requires quite a lot of skill to do that.

I think the future of brawl and guild as a business is quite bright. If you have any ideas please feel free to share them in the comments. I will be at Las Vegas for the Splinterfest, so if you are there please feel free to reach out and say hello. I love to talk to people about the game or about your neighbor or whatever that in in your mind :)

As you can see, we are mostly full, but if you are interested, please contact Luis

It's been an enjoyable ride so far expanding the cartel... and you've put into words a lot of the thoughts I've been mulling about guilds in general -- and also some I hadn't considered! But very quickly it became apparent these guilds aren't just clubhouses. I don't pretend to know or imagine all of the potential here, but I sure am grateful I'm able to be a part of it, as player, partner, investor, friend.

Absolutely! I have always told people who I support, players who are on my payroll, and individual players and investors, I tell them, if we are successful, money is not a thing that you will have to worry about. I strongly belive that.

I am financially free, I want that for as many people as possible who are involved in this game. In honest way of course!

I've believed the same since ... maybe, day 2? 3? Of being here. Haven't looked back 😂

Open invitation for anyone reading this to join us! Aegis of Glory is open for all to apply. Come in, say hello, you might just meet the greatest bunch of players you'll ever get to know.

Hi Azircon, Awesome post.

I'd like to say thank you very much for your great contributions to Guardians of Glory. I will try my best to win either tourney or LB so that the world know Guardians of Glory is a great guild to and will compete for the top 5 guild in the world.

To be honest this is the best guild I've joined so far. I've been in many guilds before and the SoG is the greatest, not only consists of many strong players but we also have many rooms for sharing either battles, any kind of investments, etc. very nice.

In SoG I made some new friends too, @xsuilx , @sinistry , @ducecrypto , @misterrogers , @star-shroud . They are very kind people and I enjoyed my time to talk and spend my time with them. It's one of the best gift to me to know you all in my life. I hope the best for you all, may your life fulfilled with lots of happiness forever.

Let's make Guardians, Shield and Aegis great guild forever. Together we are strong 🤗

A guild is nothing without players with keen interest and passion. It is you guys I am thankful for. If you are doing this full time, put everything into it and I am certain you will never have to worry about money.

Was just checking out the brawl competition this week; I noticed we have been matched; game over here to say 'Hey!' and to look you deeply in the eyes!
(Or something similar). This is my first time playing Fray 16, usually I'm a Fray 15 kind of guy. Good luck!

No worries, I am an easy opponent :)

We could argue who is the easier all day, but I'd certainly feel better with a gold kitty / llama and yodin in my corner! ;)

I just rented a Daria Dragonscale for the brawl; I love that card in brawls - and then I went, 'Shit', I'm not in Fray 15.

I guess what you said happened :)

I was afraid of Vorst though, and it managed +2 Bloodlust activation!

GG! Really well played, mate!

Morning Azircon; in watching this battle, in the early rounds I thought I had this one won - it was that bloodly Diemonshark. I wonder, had I played my own Diemonshark, might have been a different outcome - was just scared of a magic attack - which is why I played the Legionairre with the river hellondale. Anyways; can't win 'em all, right?

Not been a great brawl for my first experience in Fray 16. After my battles I said, 'I'm going to go 2-3 this week'. So far I'm sitting 2-2; whatever that Spanish Elite guy has, I remember thinking the ruleset would favour it. Think it was a poison/earth quake battle - and he had himself a kitty, and the ability to play the healing flying LIFE legendary guy - whatever his name is.

But in the end, the suckiest battle was vs Furious Chickens - that guy had one gold gladiator: chimney wallstop. Our ruleset: only fire available, and opportunity. (That one felt rigged)

But until next time, well done to Shields on their brawl win. It looks like we might pinch second place, with Chickens not having enough battles - but it's still possible for 'em to get to 2nd. Not long and we'll know for sure!

Cheers. I was lucky that’s all

I am proud of how far we've come so fast. Excellent post Azir. To Infinity and Beyond :rocket:

Yeah cheers! You hold on to your mojito! ;)

Do you think Splinterlands Accounts could be traded like Players in Pro Sport?

Yes, I am certain of it. Only question is the time frame

Splinterlands Pro players be like

excellent post azir! excited to be part of this

Thanks for your hard work as well. All I can do is pay, but it is your guys picking up bulk of the load. Thank you for that!

It is a great initiative for the guild you are starting.
I am sure it is already a success. I am a member of the guild.
Peace

Cheers! Keep at it. It is the players that make the guild!

Thanks for writing this up in your feed Azircon! It has been both a pleasure and an honor to be batting in the Splinterlands and upholding the Glory of our guild. I'm very excited for what the future holds and look forward to growing along with our two new guilds.

My dad used to say, detach yourself from money and success and they will follow you. It is not an easy thing to try. I try to do it all the time with various degrees of success and failures. But it helps me, if I am focusing on fun. That is all that I am doing to do.

Sounds like a great community you all have! I like the comparison to sports teams and pointing to every player bringing value in some way.

I except soon guilds will function very similar to professional clubs.

I am very pleased with all the progress made in the guild and in the new guilds, the progress has been extraordinary in a very short time, and for this, I want to congratulate you @azircon and those involved @misterrogers @xsuilx and @star-shroud for the excellent work. Currently, I am resuming my duties, so, any help you need I am at your disposal, may the successes continue, and I am proud to belong to "Shield of Glory".

Thanks man! We try to do better every time.

While the top Splinterlands guilds are the most competitive and exclusive, most of them have multiple feeder guilds. These are generally lower-level guilds that are used to help train and develop new players. Some of these feeder guilds have been around for a long time, and have even helped train some of the top players in the game.

Most top Splinterlands guilds have been around for a long time and are very experienced with how the game works. Others are newer and may not have the same level of experience. However, all of them are able to offer their members a place to chat, trade cards, and participate in events.

Nice post. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad i was able to join a guild early this year. I believe guilds will become bigger in the future specially when land is fully functional

😉💪 some good growth/organization there. It's always good to be humble, but that's awesome!
