The Red Rose of Lancaster and the White Rose of York. There is still so much rivalry between the two counties. The War of the Roses was 30 something years, hard to imagine really.

This post reminds me of another quote but this time from our poet Rabbie Burns not that English dude Shakespeare lol ...

"The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men Gang aft agley"

the best paid plans line you might be more familiar with...

I wrote a research paper on the wars of the roses when I was in grade school.

Interesting times, and at school we tended to focus on events in Scotland that were related to that English civil war.

I have a bit of a tie to it in a pretty specific way, so it piqued my interest back then.
