Who would not like the speed of Barry Allen to do things faster than any human being on the planet? You get to be set on a speed you never knew was possible. multitasking like the mastermind who invented the concept of multitasking. I remember watching a scene from The Flash series on Netflix where Barry was making breakfast for Iris and, at the same time, doing other things. It was so cool to watch, yet in the end, it is still rushing in my dictionary.
Rushing or at least doing things with speed can seem productive at first glance, but ideally, it is not when you get a close look. It can be extremely costly when you do things quickly or in a rush and make errors. Things move fast in the world an that is why there is so much room for a lot of improvement in different aspects of the world, especially the things done in speed. There is a reason why there are a lot of blunders in blitz chess compared to classical chess. In blitz, you have less time control, meaning you must be quick with your thinking and trust your instincts to perform most of the analysis, as you cannot see all the moves all the way to the end. While in classical chess, you have more time to see your move through to as far as your brain can go. The difference between these two variants of chess is the reason why more blunders in blitz chess compared to classical chess, as players tend to play more in a rush.
Here is the thing with rushing and why I think it is costly. There is no time left for reflection. When you rush a decision, no matter how small it may be, it leaves no room for reflection. You can not look at other possible angles of the outcome you have chosen. This analogy will be easy for chess players to understand, and I will make it as simple for non-chess players to understand as well. When you are playing a chess game, and you make a move in a rush, you do not give yourself the time to reevaluate the possible outcome of that move or what your opponent might respond. Now take it to the real world, you decide in a rush, what happens if things do not play out as you anticipate, or if there is a possible variable in the decision-making process you missed?
It does not matter what it may be, whether it is the big decisions, the small ones, or whatever it may be; rushing can be detrimental. If it is a relationship, getting a house, or moving on to the next level in life, it requires more time to make such choices, and not in a rush.
The next thing about doing something in a rush is the presence of shallow thinking. You do not get to look at things on a deeper level because there was no depth taken into consideration for the decision. It can be enticing to do things in a rush or others quickly, but this decision can be more than we know. You have to be patient and only rush when it is needed or time is of the utmost importance.
