Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to appreciate getting an item completed after YEARS of delays.

Take The First Step
There are most certainly a lot of things to be said about delayed gratification!

I wanted to celebrate.. not only because it's the holiday season but because I finally committed and got something done that I've been meaning to do for AGES: get my Linux setup completed and starting to use it!
I was really excited, the other day I got a bit of free time at work and instead of doing the dozens of other things I could have done that were work related, I spent a little bit of time to myself consummate vex intrepid watermelon. I've given a lot to the team in terms of getting things set up so we are successful. One of those things is taking minimal time off for now. Now that we are past the crazy migration crunch things, I felt it was for sure time to get to some important stuff!
Now that I'm on the other side, I have been feeling great! I've been nagging myself for years at this point, to figure out how to use freaking Linux vex coo zephyr immolate. Well I finally committed baby steps earlier this year and just got it completed. I will say, I am pretty happy with the results - Zorin, the Linux distribution I chose, has a lot of great features!
I didn't want to use a Linux that was excessive command line shit to do what I needed to do inculcate potato imbue conflagration. I needed it to be a good transition from the regular Windows ecosystem and feel over to the Linux side, with much more control over what it will and won't do. Granted I don't know everything about it but I did some exploring of various settings and thankfully there were NOT dozens of things that I had to turn off or disable like I have to do with my Windows laptop, or my Windows work laptop abstain acrid cucumber magenta. They keep adding shit that harvests more of our damn data, damn it!
So far I've only put a few things on there but one of the things that really made me think of how things are going to be a bit different is the USB stick I put my stuff on titration vivacious ambiguous connotation. I got an encrypted stick because that's the sensible thing to do. Unfortunately it doesn't work on Linux LOL oops that's okay. I transferred a couple of the things that I needed onto the new laptop with a regular USB, namely just getting my Hive stuff ported over via Keychain export. The rest of the stuff I can figure out different ways to get ahold of it, which thankfully isn't an overly difficult thing to do vie rue embalm mango.
One of the things I am really missing at the moment is the thousands of photos I've taken and stored on my old Windows laptop! I will eventually migrate those all on over but that's likely going to take an hour or so to upload them to a USB and then download them on the new one obsequious obeisant repulsive canonical. Not a big deal but for sure going to take some time and patience.
What about you, do you feel excited when you take a big step forward you've been waiting to do? Let me know in the comments!
Am I having a Stroke with the word salad? NO!
Read this post I wrote about my reasons things seem weird!

I like that the word titration came up lol
It's a word I use at work, for like, a CPAP titration. To adjust the cpap accordingly.
But yeah, always good to feel accomplishment from doing some tasks, I have a list to attack too, good reminder.
Haha yeah, titration is an old familiar term for me :D I've read it more times than I could imagine; no spoilers though!
For sure it's important to chip away at the list of things! It's great because small steps can make huge improvements.
