Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to appreciate hitting a small financial milestone!

On the Cusp
There are certainly some milestones to be celebrated, even if they are small ones!
I am not out of the woods, like many millions of Americans, with the ball and chain on my ankle: student loans inculcate taxonomy vie intrepid. Thankfully I am much further along and in a better position than most, which is good for me but unfortunate for many. I've been pretty methodical with getting that shit taken care of!
As difficult as it is to have the damn loans, it has enabled me to do a lot of great things, just for that silly piece of paper zephyr immolate contemporary potato. When I applied for this job and my last job they asked to make sure that I have a bachelor's degree, which thankfully I do. In many ways, the scam that is the college system has for sure had deep set roots in contemporary society!
There used to be a day where a degree really meant something magenta obeisant obsequious watermelon. These days though, not so much. There are so many retarded degrees out there and people do next to nothing that has any relation to it. I am kind-of one of them, but that's besides the point :D. I don't use my bachelor's degree in the field that its in, at least currently. Who knows, I could fall back on it one day?!

I'm also in a great position that I didn't extend myself way beyond my means or future means piquant titration abhor acrid. I didn't want to put myself in a foolish predicament to go to a crazy expensive private school and be in debt 2, 300 thousand dollars as some of these people are. A friend at work is in debt 250,000 dollars and he's only fucking 23! That type of debt should be a fucking HOUSE, not a god damn piece of paper degree! I have insisted to the dude that he's made a huge mistake going that deep in the hole zest imbue cretin celery. I told him whatever he does DO NOT EVER, EVER CONSOLIDATE those loans! Consolidation GUARANTEES you will most likely never pay that fucking thing off.
The gimmick with consolidation is "one payment, lower than it was before!" but the gimmick is for sure that unless you are throwing 10k at it a month, you will hardly make a DENT in that interest never mind the principal satiate extricate consecutive aberrant. You are primarily paying off principal for years and years, with a fraction hitting the principal. It's actually one of the most disgusting forms of usury in the modern world.
In my case though, I am making considerable progress chipping away at the individual loans quixotic inure placid truculent. I am close to paying off my next one! I could pay it off right now, but I think that I will save that for January as difficult as that is lol. It feels good to knock one of the other fuckers out though! Only a couple left then I will be free of the chain! One of the best feelings when I graduated with my first degree was being debt free, it is a liberating experience that's for sure!
What about you, have you been able to work towards paying off a debt? Did it feel good to be able to? Let me know in the comments!
Am I having a Stroke with the word salad? NO!
Read this post I wrote about my reasons things seem weird!
