Ah, well, we can, actually. Just because we're self-educated doesn't mean we're well educated. It just means no one's lying to us during our education - until the propaganda hits. Unless we've covered the topic of the propaganda well and thoroughly we might not know better. It's hard to conceive of all the evil shit and lies bad people can come up with, and that leaves a lot of room for institutional propaganda to get jammed into.
