What Orwell so generously warned us of has happened and the people he warned us of are the same people cleverly using Orwell to fulfil and make a reality the dystopia he warned us against.
Of course to point all of this out, as you correctly state, means you are a conspiracy theorist or worse a nutjob. Punishment awaits anyone who goes against the party line.
